Pursuit of Harbaugh Could be Hurting Sparano...PFT

the players lost faith in him last year, what do they expect current players to say lol

This comment cracked me up.

You can’t go chasing after the prom queen and then come back to your moo moo wearing wife and expect things to magically be the same and work out.

Anyways, I think there is no question that pursuing Harbaugh while Meatball was still on the payroll definately undermined any authority that Sparano may have had left. The players quit on him in Foxboro last year, and giving him a token contract extension wasn't going to change anything. The players hate him, and they've tuned him out. This is why if I was Tony I would've resigned when the news of Ross' pursuit of Harbaugh broke. However, since Tony is a nutless pansy he just sits there and let's his dignity go down the commode while he watches his boss ACTIVELY try to replace him, and he wonders why he's 0-2.

cant say i or anybody else would have quit. He is not likely to ever make this type of money again and if he is fired he still keeps the money. I dont see sparano ever getting a head coaching gig ever again. Now maybe if Uconn had a really great contract lined up I would have resigned.

It doesn't help that Sparano has shown he will throw people under the bus to save his own job. His handling of the roster and Henning last year was a disaster.
If people think the players didn't notice, they are deceiving themselves. I'm not shocked in the least about what has happened this season.

Edit: This comment did get a chuckle out of me:

You think??? On a related note, it’s seems that excessive amounts of water is a contributing factor in most floods.

I would have quit. I have my pride, I have my dignity, and I would not sit there and look like a fool, and twist in the wind while my boss is looking to replace me, and everybody in the whole world knows it. Have some respect for yourself for godsakes. You're right, Tony will probably never get another HC gig again as long he lives. That said, even if he quit that money from the extension is still guaranteed, it's not like he would be missing out on any paychecks. He should've quit, go back to being a position coach somewhere, and still collect a paycheck from Stephen Ross at the same time. Alas, that would be too easy.

well im sure they soothed his pride with a pretty big extension. actually harbaugh turning us down was the best thing that could ever happen to sparano.

Must be a slow day for Florio and crew. This was a no brainer when Ross came back without Harbaugh.
