Q: What happened to Lance Schulters? Did he sign with another team? If not, could he end up back on the Dolphins?

A: Schulters remains unsigned despite leading the Dolphins in interceptions last season with four as a 16-game starter at free safety. Schulters isn't expected back with the Dolphins, who drafted Jason Allen in the first round and signed Deke Cooper in free agency. Agent Brian Levy said Tuesday night that Schulters has received interest from three franchises and is weighing "which team has the best chance to win now. That is the most important thing to him at this stage of his career."

Yeah I agree with Alex on that one. The chances of him comin back are nada. I did like him though. However, now that we have someone younger and could probably play on the team for years to come is a very good upside to this whole ordeal.

I would have loved to have Lance back for another year but it dont look like thats meant to be.

I dont know what happened but his departure was rather sudden. No warm fuzzies from Saban or our coaching staff about wanting him back.No inkling from Schulters about playing for the Dolphins again.

Well at least if Jason Allen slips in one on one coverage, he'll have better "Closing Speed" than Lance displayed last year. No disrespect, I thought Lance did a really good job for our team, "relative to the Safety position in this scheme."

Lance wasn't fast enough for Coach Saban. There was no way he was going to be asked to return. I liked the idea of a veteran back there but Coach didn't share my point of view.

Schulters was third best DB we had last year behind Daniels and Madison...what does that tell you ?? Yea, he was better than Jones was. He is a nice player but isn't all that. He was fairly steady, but the secondary as a whole was not very good and he contributed as much to that as any of the others. Daniels had a good year and the rest of the group had mediocre to poor years (including Sam, although he's a fan favorite)...We are much better off this year in the secondary and our best guy from last year (Daniels) may not even start !! Don't fret Fins fans, we're better off now without Schulters...
