I hope that Ewers develops and is our guy, but I feel he still needs coaching. However I get a gut feeling that Miami will be trading for Mac Jones. Idk why but if that happens then that will be the QB Mike Mcdaniel will go with to save his job while 2026 is on the line.

I know we need two to tango, but is there anyone who disagrees that trading down from 11 to secure a 1st in 2027 (qb stacked draft) is not the absolute dream scenario? Next year is 100% a soft (at best) reboot to clear the books. Who wouldn’t be on board for that???

I’m with it especially if we can still acquire a pick in the bottom of round 1 (2026). Right in Denzel Boston’s range.

I am all for loading up on ammo for 2027. Any vets that draw trade interest, including Waddle, I am starting those conversations based around 2027 compensation instead of this year.

As unpopular an opinion this may be... I think I am starting to see the possibility of Tua returning and competing for a starter position.. albeit he will be starting the competition with a large disadvantage or having to jump extra hurdles to earn it.

I know there is the painful thought of having an 50 mil backup but there is a first time for everything...

I wanted to trade down last year. Give us a good GM that has balls and will trade down at least twice this year.

I’d be very surprised if he came back.

I think the issue with draft day trades is that teams don’t offer good picks for non-QBs. Teams generally only pay a late 3rd (or later depending on the jump) to swap 1st round picks. I do think trading down is a viable option given the lack of talent on our roster. However, it is unlikely we are involved in a blockbuster trade that lands us a future 1st AND we still pick in the 1st this year.

Yes I would be willing to trade down from number 11 to secure an extra first round pick in 2027.

The problem is that who will be available at number 11 that another team would be willing to give up their first round pick in 2027 for?

If we do things right we can clean our books in 2026 and secure the number 1 pick in 2027 so we can choose the best QB without having to trade away any draft capital.

This would be great, would only happen with a team that is set at QB for years though, and those teams are likely to be at the bottom of that round, except maybe the Titans?

We need to trade back and load up for the 27 draft.
The new G.M if he is stuck with McDaniel then he needs to handcuff him without any star players.
We need to play Ewers let him show he can be a competent backup in 27.
No more of these Fiedler A.J Feeley Trent Green Jay Cutler and Fitzpatrick type of qbs some were just good enough to win a few games but never put us in a position to draft a qb high except Matt Ryan who no doubt would have been perfect to keep us around .500
