Our problem is not the Q.B. And yes I know everyone is laughing right now, now that I said that. But hear me out. How can you know if a Q.B. is good if you watch him for 2 games put another one in then bring that one back then trade for another then draft one let him play then sit him put in another one then put him back in then trade that guy. the problem isnt the Q.B it is the coaching staffs and the front office stick with a qb for more then 2 games you might find something you like. Now dont get me wrong I am not saying that jay fiedler was dan marino but look at his winning % here and that was because we gave him time to adjust. He is the last one where he played a hole season since marino wether it was for dumb coaching or injury he was the last one now that is the problem.:bdh:

QB is the Dolphins problem...but so is just about the rest of team, a problem. But time cures everything...and Parcells...of course.

That, of course, isn't to say the QB's we have don't need improvement. I'm glad they brought in the QB coach first off, to work with Beck 'n Co. It shows that they, too, want to invest in him. So far, things have looked positive.

Yes I'm not saying Beck is our guy but I am saying people need to understand that look at Peyton Manning his rookie year he had one of the worst years ever and now look at him hes the best in the league.

Here are my thoughts on our QB situation. We have had a lot of average Qb's since Marino retired, and some old QB's who used to be good but were at the end of their careers.

I think we should draft Jake Long which will give Beck plenty of time to throw and open up holes for our running backs. Let Beck start and see what he can do. If he clearly doesn't have it by midseason then put in McCown. We can always draft a QB next year (unless we take a guy like Flacco or Henne this year).

I just think Matt Ryan would be a reach at this time. We need to focus on our O-line, get a few decent defensive backs, guys who can play the 3-4. I don't think we are going to win 12 games next year...but I think Beck could help us go 8-8...then in 2009 we kick butt!!!

The Dolphins problem is the lack of draft picks we have kept over the past years dating back to the Wanny Age. We are in lack of talent, the problem is WE SUCK.

No talent + No draft picks = No wins

all of our nightmares will be cured if brian brohm falls to the 32nd pick.

Seriously, look at it. How did Brian Brohm's team do last year? That's what I thought. He had no supporting cast either. Wasting that high of a draft pick on another QB would be stupid.

I'd call it more of a lack of "depth", rather than a lack of "talent". Parcells hasn't been getting us talent in FA, but he's been getting us depth, which is what the Fins need.

what we need to do is keep a qb let him get used to [mod] please don't circumvent the profanity filter[/mod] before we just bench or cut him

I agree with all of this except for the "midseason switch if he doesn't have it", let's give him the year and then make a more accurate decision even though it still is only one year.
J.Long to me is the best pick possible (even though I a huge fan of C.Long's), he would help Ronnie and that would take alot of pressure off Beck with a dominant run game. Then V.Carey goes back to his strength at RT and again the Line has been upgraded again with bringing in J.Long. We still need to address the LG spot as well but J.Long is a great start.:woot:

reason everyone's lol at u is because BP "and" JI both have made public statements that QB was the main position that MIA needed fixing so...

I do not disagree with the Long pick but who is there to draft next year if things don't work out? And if someone emerges how do we know we can get him? We cannot risk the fututre on just Beck. He may end up being great. He might not. We have got to get a highly regarded QB in this draft and that increases the our odds significantly of the QB position being something it has not been in a very long time. Stable.

I'm not sure which team you've been watching / supporting, but the QB position has been Miami's largest weakness for about decade now....

IN TUNA WE TRUST...

Who's laughing at him? I think it would be safe to say more of your post have brought on "Horse laughs" than his.
