Im not sold on quinn being a solid NFL QB. I see him being a Matt Schaub type who will be a solid backup and will do his job when called upon.

Leinhart
Vinny Young
Jay Cutler

Those are the three QBS miami should be looking at as a starter!:)

Young and Leinhart will be first rounders for sure

While Cutler should fall to 2nd or 3rd round.

Take a shot on one of those 3 and bring Marino in as QB coach :goof:

What about Quinn makes you not sold on him?

Ngata in the 1st, Cutler in the 2nd. Sign Steve McNair or Jon Kitna and we're set to go.

Im not sold on him because i see the other 3 in front of him that I mentioned as more well rounded. Plus I think Miami needs to get a QB who can run the ball on certain situations and pick up first downs (Mike Vick/Culpepper) It will keep the offense moving and free up McMike more bc of the scrambling qb. Thats just myopinion. I like quinn, but I would like the other 3 better.

its really tempting to want a scramble type QB, but most teams tend to start depending on it, and when that happens the offense loses its identity.

I agree but im saying on a 3rd and 5 with nobody open, instead of trying to force the play with a pass aka gus ferotte this year, i would like the qb to roll out and pick up the first down. keep feeding R and R and take the occasional long ball.....

I like the Colts Blueprint. Solid QB, Solid RB (in our case 2 rbs) and a Solid WR. Try going to dink and dunk like the Pats to move the ball in your own territory and take your shots downfield.

Well Quinn is more mobile than Leinart and has made 1st downs with his legs after going through all of his progressions, something which Young doesn't do. And Quinn is a much better passer than Cutler. THat being said I would take all other than Young. THe only one we will probably have a shot at is Cutler and that just depends on certain factors.

I think we just shot our chances of getting Ngata by beating the Raiders. Greenway, Hawk, or the guy from NC STATE are probably better possibilities at this point

How many people are going to keep on throwing Young's name out there when he's said he's staying in school? Countless threads argue whether we should draft Leinart or Young.. arggh.

Depends on the future of the CBA..if they agree to put a cap on rookies salaries he could..I don't think he will though either way. He needs another year to develop.

sign steve mcnair, develope cleo lemon

Why would anyone be sold on Cleo Lemon for anything more than a scrub is beyond me.

As to the thread, you are sold on Young but not Quinn? What has Young shown you that Quinn hasnt other than his ability to run the football. As far as passing the ball Young has nothing over Quinn as far as I can tell.

If we keep winning this thread has no bearing on the future. We are already 7th or 8th in drft order. Not only will we be out of the QB race but we will be lucky to get anything but LB when we select, and AJ will be gone. So lets just think about what LB we will take and stop the QB talk.

Ben Roethlisberger went 13th I believe, I think we can get a qb at 7-10. Especially Quinn if he does declare. And it's a big IF we keep winning.
