QB situation

Who thinks Beck is our franchise QB? I really want him to be that guy. I hate when we waste picks. I don't want to give up and draft another QB. I say we stick with him until he proves he isn't that franchise QB we need. I realize he isn't a Dan Marino. But lets be real thats not what we need. Dan didn't win us a Super Bowl. I've been in running from that fact our my life ut I've finally come to terms. He isn't what we need. I really want Beck to be a good franchise QB and take us to the Super Bowl.

Sorry I ranted a bit there. Tell me what you think. Should we just say screw Beck and draft a new QB? Should we give him another year on the bench? Maybe just say ok your our guy go win us games?

The only problem I have with him is his age. We doesn't get the extra years to develop that some QBs get. I say we tell him he's our guy and we should bulid around him.

Yea but Anderson played real well. Lets follow Cleveland's lead and get another young Qb in here and we have better odds of one turning out good.

anderson threw 19 picks, not terrible considering he threw 527 passes, but enough to show some poor decision making. i think that beck can be a single digit interception kind of QB if we utilize him correctly. he threw 0 ints in 4/5 games under the absolute worst circumstances, give the guy a chance. im sure if parcells had seen beck at the combine last year, he would have fallen in love with him like all the other scouts did.

As you can see I'm a John Beck home boy and I think he is going to be even better than antisipated. I've followed John since before the 07 draft and he was the first of the two guys I wanted the Fins to draft, Kolb being the other one. As far as age goes, think of it in this way, He is way more mature than a 23 year old so just maybe he won't take as long to come around to being the QB you and I hope he can be. Don't forget R. Staubach played for 11 years (and was in 4 Super Bowls; winning 2) and he was out of football for 5 years because of his Navy contract. That was 5 years that the guy didn't play any kind of orginized football between playing for Navy and playing for the Boys.

Beck will be just fine. To insure he does just fine we need to do the following.

- Draft a big healthy tight end.
- Improve our already good offensive line
- Get another solid receiver
- A Healthy Ronnie Brown.

I think the first and last are the ones we need to get the most. Our offensive line played great for most of the season. I think their one piece away from being a great offensive line.

Ronnie Brown was amazing before going down with his injury. If he comes back and plays similar, it's going to be a big step up from last season.
