FH was lagging so i couldnt post the link when i had it earlier but in it was saban saying that he can't put it on DC or think about his future b/c its a physical injury and he will take it day b y day. it isnt something where he can talk about where his future is. I think saban knows its time to draft a QB. Most likely J Russell if saban sticks around will be our 1st round pick if he doenst jump off the boards after cmobine n such.

(On how he weighs decisions about the quarterback position without being certain about Daunte Culpepper’s status) – “We can’t be certain about Daunte because you have a physical issue there that he is going to be rehabbing for a significant amount of time, but we’re hopeful by some point in March, when we start physically doing things, that he’ll be able to physically do things and we’ll be able to make an evaluation of him and how he is able to come back. I just think we have to do it day-to-day and week-to-week. I don’t think we can make predictions about what is going to happen for Daunte in the future.”

So much for all this talk about how the coaches are so optimistic about Daunte Culpepper, about how highly they think of him. I think we WILL draft a quarterback in 2007.

He mention Qb, rb, and reciever needs to get looked at.

NO, he said that all the 'good' teams ... and those with playoff credentials

HAVE a QB, a playmaker at WR and a good RB ....

Right now we have what 'looks' to be a good RB ... so we are missing 2 pieces of the pie on offense !!

He did defend Chambers ... but he is NOT a #1 or a playmaker ... he DOES make some pretty catches --- but I want a guy who has good YAC ... not a highlight reel of catches !

He reiterated what we have said ad nauseum here ... Culpepper is an UNKNOWN --- until he proves otherwise !

RB b/c minor and morris i believe are FA.

thats why CC can be our Wayne from INdy. a GREAT number 2 WR. we definitley shoudl go for a WR

Why RB Ronnie and Morris are good.

Morris ain't good enough to back up Ronnie as number two and Ricky is unreliable...

Personally, I think it's simple. Top 5 Defense in NFL, doesn't need much work. One of the worst offenses in the NFL, needs lots of work. Personally, I'd be pissed if we didn't spend the first 4 picks on the best offensive players available at the QB Oline Receiver Tight End and even possibly Running back positions (to add depth behind Ronnie). The defense ain't our problem nor has it been for over 10 years. Time to invest in the offense and invest big time especially through the draft. We draft pretty high this year, let's do the best we can and invest it where we need it most...

who else here is tired of watching a mediocre offense take the field and expecting turnovers and self destruction when we have the ball?

The problem with CC being a #2 is the $$$$ we are paying him ... its too much for a #2 ....

He won't take a pay cut, so we need to trade him if possible and pick up a real #1

We had a great defense this year (for the most part). However, saying that we need to draft offense because our defense is already good enough is off he mark. Take into consideration that we may lose our best asset on defense in Jason Taylor. Also, Keith Traylor is probably done in this league leaving us with a problem at DT. Will Fred Evans fill this gap? Maybe, but probably not. We did steal Roderick Wright in the 7th round this past draft. He was projected to be taken in the 1st round before everyone caught word of his injury. He could be our answer there. We need to address our LB's and DE's though. In my opinion, we will do that in the first an second round or possibly draft a guy like LaMar Woodley from Michigan. The guy can play DE and OLB. We will have to see though.
