Good read if you have interest in who Tannehill was throwing to, his favorite routes, etc. He was #1 in throwing to WR's, and last in throwing to RB's, which Lazor will balance out. This should increase his accuracy % by a fair margin.

Lazor is one of the reasons I am being optimistic about the coming season. Throwing to the backs has to be a part of a modern offense. IMO Sherman was really holding us back in a lot of ways, we have good pieces, I think.

Many point to Tannehill's need to improve his accuracy but, throwing to WR's as opposed to RB's is going to do that.

I thought Tannehill used the middle of the field at least a little more this year than in year 1, but for sure he prefers to throw to the edges and not in traffic in the middle. Even a large amount of his TE throws to Clay were split out, I think probably because Sherman knew that was where he could get him the ball more likely. Not a fan of Sherman's offense or his way with players, but it's worth saying just for accuracy IMO.
I think rolling Tannehill out to make those throws would have helped his accuracy too as he did in college, but as we all know, it was like they were purposely handcuffing him so he'd learn to become a better pocket QB as opposed to just running all the time. Hopefully this year Lazor lets him use his strengths more. I think it's time. I want something fun to cheer about!
