1 - OLB, Larry English, Northern Illinois
The best pass rusher in the draft. Explosive first step. Relentless after the QB. Solid size(6ft-2in 255lbs). One of the most 3-4 ready Outside Linebackers available in April. Smaller School (I.E. Kendall Langford - Hampton). GREAT Value at 25. Will need to work on pass coverage, is moderately stiff in the hips.
2(44) - CB, Darius Butler, Connecticut
Ran a 4.38 at his pro day which was much faster than his combine number. Best hips/change of direction in the draft. Can make a play on the ball and has big play ability. A little on the smaller side 5ft-10in 183lbs. Best cover corner in the draft. Stock rising in a BIG way. *Wishful Thinking*???
2(56) - NT, Ron Brace, Boston College
Big dude (6ft-3in 330lbs). Best available DT/NT after the likes of Raji and Jerry. Ideal Run stuffer for the 3-4. Stout at the point of attack and has good strength. Good Value.
3 - QB, Patrick White, West Virginia
The most dynamic player in the draft (4.5 40). Threw the ball extremely well at the combine and at his Pro day. Ran routes in private workouts for a number of teams. Mr. "Wildcat" Himself. Could add so many more dimensions to our Wild cat formation. Might be somewhat of a reach.
4 - WR, Ramses Barden, Cal Poly
Huge Target (6ft-6in 230lbs). Solid speed (4.5 area). Ideal Red Zone Target. Good Yards after Catch. Solid college career. Good run blocking WR. Good Value.
5 - ILB, Frantz Joseph, Florida Atlantic
The future our our ILB core (Along with Crowder). An intense and extremely physical individual. 3 year starter. Tackling machine. Ever so slightly undersized for a prototypical Parcells ILB (6ft-1in 240lbs). Nice value.
6 - OT, Cornelius Lewis, Tennessee State
A big guy (6ft-4in 336lbs). Skilled enough to play LT after time to grow and learn. Our great depth guy to fall in behind our two stud Tackles. Good Value.
7(214) - C, Edwin Williams, Maryland
The Young center to groom for life after Jake Grove.
7(237) - RB, Antone Smith, FSU
Reportedly ran a 4.28 40 and pushed up 225lbs 31 times at his pro day. Durability issues his whole college career. Somewhat misused at FSU. Pick based upon taking best available, so good value here.
