...and for success. Facts are the QB position IS very important but there are very few Qb's in this league that can make an offense like ours an upper teir unit.

There are those special few who have played football who could be put in a bad situation and still be succesful...there might be one current qb playing now who could be put in a situation like Miami and play at a high level.

Im not defending Harrington at all...I instead am just pointing out that our biggest problem is not the QB...lets review some of the "top" qb's in this league....

Manning- maybe he could make some plays with this team..MAYBE,he has shown he can make some plays under pressure..but he flourish's on timing routes and I cant see him being able to wait for some of those patterns to develop....I predict we might be a playoff team with Manning.

Brady- We have never really seen Tom under intense pressure so this one is very hard..he rarely has bad games..but with this OL I think he is just a good NFL qb...I predict a .500 team with Brady.

Mcnaab- Mcnaab has been the beneficiary of a great OL for his whole career..he still can improvise and make a play that no one else can. But if he gets consistent pressure on him he turns into a bad decision making QB...for all of you who disagree on this one..remember AJ Feely was 4-1 and looked like a bonified starting QB in Philly....I say a just below .500 team w/Donovan

..I think those are generally the 3 names that get brought up when u talk about the "best" in the league...

My theory is that the QB position gets way blown out of poportion both as a winning QB and a losing QB....You cant be a good offense w/o atleast a decent OL, a running game, and dependable Wr's..and even a good defense to put the offense in good situations....there are not many Qb's who have ever lived that could overcome those problems and lift his team to wins.

And..

and they are easy target for greatness!! that come with the position.

Sorry..

umm yea I know....I said that?????

I didn't read your thread, i hthough you were covering for our qb's. Anyway, what was your point? Are they to blame or not. Cause normally everybody do and they should, if the qb has no control or the offense don't thrust him, then they will play without heart. If i was Jh and i see a drop for an int, i will be in the face of the player who did that. And problably tell him that he not see the F*$# ball anymore in this game. RESPECT!!

I just get tired of some people thinking were a QB away from being a SB team....the garbage we see on offense is a team effort to produce.

Ok!!

no question on that, but the OC has a lot to do with that, cause is has no control of what we are heading offensibly.

We're at least a QB away from being a team that can win a few games.

QB is NOT our problem, lousy OL and receivers who don't catch passes are our problem. And an OC that hasn't learned you need to run the ball occasionally.

We need to start the rebuilding process with the OL first and foremost....everything else can work its self out..but you need a good OL to be a good football team period.

NO!!

Harrington is getting blamed when he is more a part of the cure than the problem.

The WHOLE team is playing like fecal material. The recievers are just pathetic. It's like they are all playing in a fog or something.

I think coaching is more to blame than I thought until now. They are not playing anywhere near their potential. Once Daunte was signed I think that in the eyes of a lot of players he became the alpha dog, not the coach anymore. Maybe the players have tuned out the coach, or he is just totally in over his head.

Yea whatever happened to Houck the OL mastermind?? He had them overachiving last year but what the hell happened?

what?!? .. mcnabb has not been the benificiary of a great OLINE his entire career .. Mcnabb played in my hometown of syracuse which i haven't seen have a good OLINE since god knows when .. however i do remember how much excitement he brought to the feild and how he kept the offense moving by bailing them out in tough situations .. Mcnabb is a premiere QB who doesn't get as much recognition being held back by the style of Reids offense .. his decision making should NOT come into question .. he has NO WRs to speak of that elivate the game to a higher level and still makes plays to keep their team winning and in games when they're not .. if he could spread the feild and make more snap decisions .. Mcnabb in a dolphins uni would make my dreams come true .. over .500 as a Dolphin because he's a mobile qb and can make something out of nothing .. which is what we need with NO OLINE

Wow...are you serious?? Dude i watch every single NFL game every year and Mcnaab is put in about as good as situation a QB could ever hope for! He normally has 5-6 seconds back there..and there is always a TE or a RB wide open underneath....you must not see many games because Mcnaab is in a great situation..he's got the best recieving rb in football...the guy dumps it off and gets a 56 yd TD pass.....Mcnaab has ability to make plays but EVERY time he gets pressured consistently he turns to garbage (ala Sunday)..he throws a nice deep ball but his lack of accuracy on regular routes is well known....He is a product of good surroundings...remember AJ Feeley went 4-1 when Mcnaab got hurt a few years ago and look how he did in Miami...

were not a playoff team with Mcnaab...

exactly .. i know he has a great OLINE now .. thats not the point i was making .. the point is he is a big play guy and can keep the chains moving .. i wasn't doubting the situation he's in rather defending his big play ability .. now he's got a good TE to dump off to and one of the best recieving RB in the league in Philly .. he wouldn't in miami?!? .. they have probably one of the best offensive setups in the league .. but without time to make decisions because of how their line sucks they're garbage .. as far as his decision making goes .. its predominantly because of Reids style of offense .. i watched for years as when there weren't recievers open and pressure was on him he tucked it away and made the play himself .. he can't do that in philly because Reid is a hash to hash coach who doesn't spread the feild .. make the D chase down mcnabb and spread the feild so the WRs get more room to make plays and attack the ball and see a whole different side of Mcnabb

But he has shown how bad he can be under consistent pressure..and he would be getting lots of that down here. He would be better than what we have now but he plays bad when pressured...but to his defense just about every qb in the league struggles under pressure.
