...and for success. Facts are the QB position IS very important but there are very few Qb's in this league that can make an offense like ours an upper teir unit.
There are those special few who have played football who could be put in a bad situation and still be succesful...there might be one current qb playing now who could be put in a situation like Miami and play at a high level.
Im not defending Harrington at all...I instead am just pointing out that our biggest problem is not the QB...lets review some of the "top" qb's in this league....
Manning- maybe he could make some plays with this team..MAYBE,he has shown he can make some plays under pressure..but he flourish's on timing routes and I cant see him being able to wait for some of those patterns to develop....I predict we might be a playoff team with Manning.
Brady- We have never really seen Tom under intense pressure so this one is very hard..he rarely has bad games..but with this OL I think he is just a good NFL qb...I predict a .500 team with Brady.
Mcnaab- Mcnaab has been the beneficiary of a great OL for his whole career..he still can improvise and make a play that no one else can. But if he gets consistent pressure on him he turns into a bad decision making QB...for all of you who disagree on this one..remember AJ Feely was 4-1 and looked like a bonified starting QB in Philly....I say a just below .500 team w/Donovan
..I think those are generally the 3 names that get brought up when u talk about the "best" in the league...
My theory is that the QB position gets way blown out of poportion both as a winning QB and a losing QB....You cant be a good offense w/o atleast a decent OL, a running game, and dependable Wr's..and even a good defense to put the offense in good situations....there are not many Qb's who have ever lived that could overcome those problems and lift his team to wins.
