When we picked Ginn, as opposed to Quinn, I thought it was because of a NY guy who could not spell. Now, it's a bit different. Somebody dropped the U.

In hindsight, who would your pick have been between the two?

Like to scream "fire" in a crowded movie theater too? To watch the madness that ensues?

It's 95 degrees here today.

And Ginn. Who would our downfield threat be if we didn't have Ginn?

Ted Ginn. He has improved each season so far, and from offseason reports looks to have turned a big corner and could be in for a big year. Brady Quinn on the other hand, has done squat in the NFL so far, and will really only get his first chance to shine this season(he is expected to win the Browns' starting job).

Another reason why Ginn was the better choice in hindsight, is because we now have Chad Henne on the roster. I personally believe(this is not just the Dolphins fan inside me) that Henne is a better pro prospect then Quinn. I saw this guy play in High School(my high school was not that far from his, so I saw a few of his games throughout the years) and in college(Penn State fan, so I watched a lot of Big Ten games) so I got a pretty good feel about him.

I would much rather have Ginn and Henne to build around, then just Quinn.

Thanks for the report. I was planning to go there as soon as I get through the other 49 states. :)

I'm a new kid on the block. However, some replies just fascinate me.

This is one of many. I do not know if to laugh, or feel sorry.

This is easy now. The NFL is all about "what have you done lately". I was upset then but relieved now. Clearly I take Ginn for the reasons below and it is actually a no brainer.

1) Has done more than Quinn the last 2 years.
2) Can play more than one spot (WR/KR/PR/;) might see him in the wildcat this year)
3) Has more upside (his speed is above the norm, where Quinn is not superior in any one quality)
4)Does not come with the GQ drama
5) Less $$$
6) Pick got Cameron fired and got us the Tuna/Ireland/Sparano instead
7) We got the whole family!

Usually pretty hard to compare a qb and a wr after 2 years. Players like Flacco and Ryan have made people forget that qb is not an instant gradification position in the draft and is the hardest position to develop in football and hardest to find a player in the draft. You might only end up with one good qb in an entire draft while you will have a few good receivers in every draft.

At Qb in that draft none of the qbs have been a stud so far.
Trent Edwards has been the cream of the group so far. Russel and Quinn are both works in progress but likely starters for thier team.

At Wr the class of the 2007 draft by far has been Calvin Johnson and Dwayne Bowe. Ted Ginn is grouped in with the solid receivers of Steve Breaston, Steve Smith and Anthony Gonzalez.

That being said if we had drafted Quinn we likely would have used the last 2 second round picks on players at positions that we need starters at instead of constantly throwing darts at qb. Drafting three qb's and still no more proof that any of them will be better than Quinn and definate proof that Beck was an awful pick.

If we had drafted wr in the second round of last year there are two receivers that are already as accomplished or more accomplished than our second year receiver. There is nothing that Ginn can do that Desean Jackson is not capable of and he is a superior special teams player.

If we'd have drafted Quinn, we'd still be overreaching as the market confirmed. It's reasonable to believe based on his consistently lacklustre showings, including this year's OTAs, that after inevitably being thrown to the wolves by Cam, he would now most likely be 3rd string behind Troy Smith in Baltimore We'd end up with nothing to show for our 07 1st pick instead of our 2nd.

Willis > Ginn > Quinn

So since we drafted Ginn we will never know how far he might have fell in the draft if we passed on him.

As for Quinn being cut already please. Quinn still is considered the leading canidate to start for Cleveland and there were reports of at least one team offering a first round pick for Quinn while Beck had no value and was cut after only two seasons. we can all specualate what Quinn will do but he has been basically on schedule as far as young qb's go while Beck was a complete and utter failure here in Miami and was let go for nothing at all. Its doubtful we could not have got the same trade offer that Cleveland go especially since you insist that Quinn is always lackluster and still getting these offers.
