Got this from sportsline.

By the Numbers who is better.

Quarterback A: 33 career starts
Quarterback B: 22 career starts

Quarterback A: 65.8 career completion percentage
Quarterback B: 59.9 career completion percentage

Quarterback A: 9.09 yds per attempt
Quarterback B: 6.91 yds per attempt

Quarterback A: 71 tds to 24 ints
Quarterback B: 56 tds to 37 ints

Now if you think that A is the better pro prospect, you have selected Brian Brohm over Matt Ryan. In judging a prospect I think that the 3 most important things to look at are career starts to see if they're not a one year wonder, completion percentage, which is a good judge of accuracy, and yds per attempt, which shows if a quarterback is throwing the ball down field. Brian Brohm wins overwhelmingly in all 3. Now I know they are only numbers, but they have to say something.
I know everyone has seen the Virginia Tech game, but if you forget about that one game would you feel like Brian Brohm was the superior prospect?

Even though were in the draft thread, I for some reason assumed both QB's were in the pros. As i read it i was real excited to see who they were because those are some telling stats. Then I saw that they were college QB's. Suddenly the stats don;t quite matter as much for me. I think because there is just so much going on at the college level different from the pros, it's real tough to just look at the numbers no matter how convincing they are.

I;ve just seen too many college QB's that can have incredible #'s and suck in the pros or never even make it. Same thing at pretty much every position. The opposite is true too. I remember alot of guys that simply weren't that effective in college but blow up in the pros (Brady!). It's just weird and a different game, you really need to look for certain attributes and try to project. I'm not saying Ryan is better than Brohm (I honestly don;t have an opinion because I don't think I'm qualified to judge that), just saying that stats from college aren't always that useful.

I know that numbers usually are quite pointless in college, but the point I was trying to make is if everyone was actually judging Matt Ryan solely on the Virginia Tech game, and not what he did for the rest of the year and his collegiant career. If I compared Colt Brennans numbers I'm sure they would be around the level of Brian Brohms maybe even higher.

Yes but Brian Brohm didn't play in a spread offense like Brennan did. Brohm played his entire collegiate career in a pro-style offense. For this reason I have always considered him an elite prospect. His production, the style of offense that he played in and He also played in a better division that what Matt Ryan has played in. ACC < Big East.

Since we aren't drafting either of them it means nothing to the Dolphins!

If either was to fall to 32....there would be a good chance of drafting that player.

What about Brennan in the 6th. I call it MEDIA BIAS but he is now rated # 16 I know some people will be HAPPY to hear that but is it fair # 16? And if he is really rated that low, can we trust the scouts?

Nobody has a better accuracy rate than Colt, and he proved that again at the ASU QB Skills Competition.

Didn’t scouts say that this is the most important trait in a QB?

He was 2nd in scrambling and mobility.

Weak Arm? He was tied for 4th with John Booty, 2 yds behind Matt Ryan.

Yards Per Attempt...with everyone KNOWING Hawaii was going to pass, He was 8.96,
plus 70%+ in accuracy..

??? How did he do that with everyone STARING at him, KNOWING his next move????

And don't tell me weak competition...USC, Arizona St, Alabama, Washington, Boise St., Oregon St., Purdue, Mich. St. Wisconsin, and Georgia. He may have lost some of these games, and ONLY 1 bad game...being the Georgia game...add all those stats together and it is an AWESOME stat. It still would be better than Brian’s, Chad or Ryan’s.
