6. Miami. The Dolphins knew it might be a long haul with Gus Frerotte at quarterback, and they were right. But the club should have plenty of cap room in the offseason to spend on the next eligible free-agent veteran ... if, that is, it doesn't make a move for a quarterback in the draft. Frerotte is a perfect backup, and the Dolphins knew that. He became their starter because there was no one better on the club, and the Dolphins re-emphasized that when they returned Frerotte to the lineup after Sage Rosenfels lit up Buffalo for 21 fourth-quarter points last week. Frerotte isn't the answer; neither is Rosenfels. The Dolphins make a change here next season.

Forecast: A casting call for the next Dan Marino begins Jan. 2.

I am thinking we are gonna take Cutler of Vanderbilt or Omar Jacobs in the middle of the first round. :)

I don't know where you got that quote from but it's a little screwed up. The way it sounds is that if we go for a qB in the draft, we won't go for one in FA. One would think it to be the other way around, yes? That is since FA comes before the draft and any available fter the draft would be backups, which we have plenty of anyway.

I gotta say, Jacobs doesn't impress me at all. I would rather sign Kitna and wait another year then to draft Jacobs. Unless he lasts till the fifth.

It's quite the homer pick but i'd pick up Croyle in the third, he's got a rocket for an arm and he's pretty mobile. Injury history is a concern but this kid can play. This is my pick if Cutler gets taken before we pick or if picking him would be a big reach because i see saban getting as much value out of each pick as he can.

I saw Omar Jacobs going in the 18th position in the first round in a reputable mock draft.

Jacobs really impresses me, ive never really seen him play but his numbers are absolutly off the charts

The article doesn't really say anything in a way...all 9 teams could either draft a QB or not.I think if Cutler's there we'll pull the triger but there's gonna be abunch of teams ahead of us now so Cutler could be gone...if he's gone then I see us going defence and then QB later on(Pinnegar maybe?)

Ozzy rules!!
