How do you think Shoula, Greise, and the '72 fins would feel if a current Dolphins team went undefeated? Would they be upset because that would no longer make them the only team not to lose?

I dunno, i was just thiknin about this the other day while persuing perfection in madden lol.

i know i would be thrilled because i wasnt even alive when it happend and it would mean a fins championship.

how would you guys feel if that happend?

I remember when it happenned....I was young but i remember it very well since at the time I was living in Miami. It was a fantastic Feeling. Back then we as kids used to hang out outside (no video games, no cable, no computers) quite abit...So as the year went on, we all got more and more excited. There were tons of #12 and #39 shirts around. Everyday after school we would go to the nearby park and played football until it was dark. Those were great years.... Im in my mid 40's now with 2 boys
and I tell them about the great years without cable, vcr, cellphones, and all the wonderful toys we now have. I honestly would not change my childhood with theirs.
They, of course..think their old man is crazy!!!
Now..getting back to your question, I dont think they would be too upset. Me as a fan I would love for my kids to experience something like what i had the luck to experience in 72-73.

they would feel happy for them because i think that they are like dolphins fans ,if you know what i mean

i think they would be disappointed, not really upset, but it wouldnt be to bad cuz if they had to pick one team it would be the dolphins this way its still the only fracnhsie to do it. Althoguht i dont totally agree that they are all dolphin fans. People switchin teams wasn't really as bad back then, but it still happend some, so idk if you could they all or most are fin fans.

I think they would love it. They were and always will be Dolphins, and to be a member of the only team to go undefeated twice would be unreal! How could they not be happy and proud?

I agree. It has never been about themselves, it was about the team.

What they do now with the toast is like thumbing their nose at the media for not giving them the respect they were due in 72.

I believe they would feel that if another team did go undefeated they would be happy that it was a Miami Team.

As long as the new record would be broken "in the family," I'm sure they'd be okay with it. Although the 17-0 record is such a source of personal pride for me as a fan that I hope it lasts forever. That was such a unique time to live in South Florida and be a diehard Dolphins fan. Lots of great memories!

Flipper in the endzone
Zonk wrapping his arms around the ball and charging
"The Surgeon" perfectly executing another game plan (well, until he broke his leg)
Butch & Sundance
The Jaw

Good times :)

I was akid back then but I saw them win the superbowl...but now it'd mean even more since I know a whole lot more about our team...I think the 72 guys would be happy if it happen....it'd stay in the family and they could celebrate a superbowl win!!

Ozzy rules!!

Yup the least of all possible "evils" in their collective mind!

Yea, I remember the bbq place on 103st had the "Shula - Dolphins #1" on it's sign for about 5 years....I'm a little older than you, but agree...I never played inside as a kid....

And I agree that they wouldn't be too upset either...but lets worry about getting better first...

I remember hearing some of them say one time that they didn't care who it was, they didn't want anyone else to do it because THEY wanted to be the only team to do it - whether it was another Dolphin team or not. I'm sure, if it were to happen, they would prefer it be Miami. But the general feeling is, they don't want anyone to do it.
