I live in NY and am switching from Direct TV satellite to comcast cable. I had the Sunday ticket and was able to watch all the Dolphins games each season. Does anyone know if Comcast offers a package like this (If you have Comcast)? I heard something about them offering games for just your favorite team. Im pulling my hair out trying to find this out. Any help is much appreciated-I would rather spend every Sunday on my sofa than in a bar.

As far as I know the NFL ticket is exclusive to Direct TV. I think you are out of luck. I have Comcast in Florida and there is no current NFL package. Of course, I get the Dolphins every week barring a blackout, so no big deal for me.

This could be the worst thing to happen to me in years...I must watch my fins play every week...

Maybe ill just have to get direct tv AND cable just so I can get Sunday Ticket..I have done that before. Its expensive but it was worth it

Just my two cents:

I felt your pain for a long time. I had DirecTV for years and hated every second I had it with the exception of 16 Sundays a week (I don't get too bothered the bye week). I switched to cable for three years, saw the Phins on TV in Orlando when I could (blacked out because of Bucs or Jags games more than they should have been), but for the most part went to the sports bar.

When I moved to Jax last year, I switched back to DirecTV and I have my games again, which is worth the grief I don't like about DirecTV (weather, incompatible with other services like cable phone, namely) and I save on $50 (or more if we score a lot!) of beer, TD shots and chicken wings a week.

I think you will be disappointed without Sunday Ticket, but you should have a season at the sports bar to decide to bring it back or not, and then decide.

Im def going to be disappointed (Although I heard comcast offers something about getting all the games for just your favorite teams-I dont know though)...As I live in NY the the closest sports bar is a NYG, NYJ bar :boohoo:...If it comes down to that looks like those Jets fans will have to look at the Miami logo on my hat every week...They arent scaring me away!

i seem to get into drunken rages at sports bars during the season. you are out of luck with cable. i think you can still get NFL network on Comcast, but
not the ticket

DirecTv is where its at! Sunday Ticket is exclusive to them.

Why are you getting rid of the dish?

My sentiments exactly. You definitely save money with the Ticket, and now they have the games in HD. Being able to watch every Phins game is worth something in and of itself.

Truthfully I cant stand Direct TV and comcast is cheaper for me...There must be something that comcast offers that is you can get ur fav teams games.

i love directv

not too mention the new satelites they have/and are launching...no other service will be able to match their level of hd content.

Once upon a time, on some phins site (I only come here now, so who knows where it was) there was a list of phins friendly bars nationwide. There must be a Phins friendly bar somewhere... I think every town has a friendly bar for a specific team.

Ever heard of a SLINGBOX? Create your own sunday ticket!

I just moved and my balcony is facing east so no DirecTV anymore - a big sacrifice but what can you do? I can go to a sports bar around the corner so no big problem but I loved having Sunday Ticket and watching in HD.

To clarify, last I looked, DirecTV has an exclusive contract for NFL Sunday Ticket until 2010. However, more and more, NFL network are getting some games. I also heard Cox cable offer some kind of regional package, but basically the only conventional way to get our beloved dolphins games every week (unless a hurricane moves it to another day or the like) is to get DirecTV.:tantrum:

One out the box solution you might want to consider if you have a willing friend in south Florida is to buy a SLINGBOX and send it to your friend, they hook it up to a spare TV in their home, and you can then watch it in your out of state location via the internet. It works! You can buy a basic Slingbox from www.Slingmedia.com for a couple of hundred dollars - these days cheaper than Sunday ticket. Hope that helps.:ninja:
