Instead of my usual bashing of Nick Saban I deciced to think more on a positive note of the whole situation. We all know that Nick Saban has stated that he loves Mr. H on the same level as his very own father, and that Wayne has also noted how much respect he STILL has for Nick. My question is: Do you think after this season we will use Nick Saban's knowledge of all the talent that's coming out of the draft? He could tell us who's rising, who's falling, and who's the sleepers. Do you think he thinks he owes us a little bit? Appreciate your thoughts.

First,
I have no problems with Nick Saban and him leaving for Alabama. The college game is what he enjoys doing, so why not go back? I hate my job and I'am looking to change, what's the difference?

Second,
I doubt that the Dolphins will use Nick Saban as a adviser for the college players unless it's Alabama players. The Dolphins have their own people and Saban doesn't work for Miami anymore.

That's my opinion.

What makes you think Saban knows anything about the draft and how college player will do at the pro level? Well lets take a look at the two first rounds picks Ronnie Brown Saban drafted because when he coached Lsu his players kept telling him how they hate it when Ronnies in the game cause he is so hard to stop.Jason Allen/ Saban tried like hell to bring him to Lsu so I think this was more of and Ego pick more than anything else.As for the rest of his draft picks I would go with Channing Crowder and Travis Daniels as desent picks but its still early in there carrers.Ronnie is ok but not worth an number 2 overall. No one in the top 10 in 2005 draft has been a star. What a bad year to have the number 2 overall pick

Saban criticized the personnel department for not getting him the right kind of guys yet he made the FINAL decision on all personnel moves, what a hypocrite--no thanks. His stellar drafts leave much to be desired.

:sidelol: I wonder if Wayne got his phone back? :sidelol:

No they won't ask Saban for his input. After his first two drafts... why would you want his input anyway?

I doubt Mueller wants to hear anything that Saban has to say.

Mueller is a respected professional with years of Pro NFL experience & a good track record. He was right about to be fired by Saban wasn't he?

How many of Saban's draft pics last year actually ever played in real games?

2?

The safety & the wideout, who else got any real game playing time?
(And neither guy made any real impact on the team)...

How many pics did we have last year, that isn't exactly a good draft no matter how you look at it....

I have heard that Saban and Wayne-O have some bad blood because of Jason Allens Contract Holdout During Training Camp. Wayne made it clear he didnt want a holdout and Allen heldout. Wayne didnt want Allen to play because of this but Saban did. There were arguments about this @ Fins Headquarters. The Bad blood started there. I know they try to keep their relationship look good to the public because they are Professionals. But they didnt get along very well. I have strong sources

Furio, or whoever runs that pro football rumor site, said something like that last year. He didn't say why, but he did write that there was friction...

Yeah I heard from One of the Coaches I work for over at USF. I figure as long as I dont say his name. but he is close with Some Fins Coaches and hes always telling me that saban and wayne are not best buds

The problem wasn't that Saban left for the college game because he enjoys it more. If he had actually attended a press conference to announce that decision on his own, instead of creepily getting on a plane behind everyones back, or e-mailing the Dolphins instead of gathering them all together, this would not be an issue. If he had been forthcoming as to why he left and stood up to everyone, thanked the community for the support he had, but his heart is in another place, then there wouldn't be an uproar. It was the way he left which left a bad taste in everyone's mouth.
