Well its actually two questions....Im not sure who is going to be our 3rd rb on the roster behind Ronnie and Lorenzo and i wanted to know if we are keeping 2 fullbacks on the roster since we have Mauia and Schlesinger? I think last year we only had Barnes on the roster.
 
I think we'll have to wait and see who developes. This is Cam's first year and he's changing to an offense(I hope) that Miami hasn't had in like...14 years.:err: So before anything else gets done I am thinking Cam will see what he has while also checking out other options at RB. This should be the easiest postion to learn and the NFL has another round of cuts to be made and we could grab someone from there as well. #3 might not be on the roster yet. I love the FB position tons this year and know we're set at the 2 deap with one of the smartest FB teaching the young Reagan Mauia the tricks of the trade. Anyone else think this kid is going to be one hell bull dozer in the coming years. HUGH potential.
 
Watch out for Jesse Chatman. He could do more this year than most are expecting.

I don't think Cam even knows right now if he is keeping two fullbacks on the roster.

It may depend a lot on how effective Reagan is on ST's.
 
I always like Jesse Chatman when he was with the Chargers. I actually think he will be a solid 3rd RB for us. He played pretty well when he was pressed into action at times.

I don't remember Chatman playing much at all. I only remember Micheal Turner backing up LT.
 
I think that rookie FB will end up on the practice squad this year. We "need" a heavy duty back when/if Ronnie goes down. Chatman was not even playing last year due to his weight do my money is on Cobbs or someone else. Didn't Cobbs lead the Pats in rushing in preseason last year? Both he and Chatman are short 5"8 and the same weight to. I know most may disagree but I would have felt better if Sammy Morris was still around as he could "fill" in at RB, FB and was great at ST. Now we may have to keep 2 players on the roster to fill the position he filled.
 
I think Cam and Dom Capers might have a role for Mauia on special teams as well as backup fullback. We lost Sammy Morris to the Patriots this offseason and Sammy was good on special teams. I don't know if Schlesinger plays special teams or not. Reagan could blast open some big holes for Ted Ginn on punt/kick returns maybe. Reagan is going to have to prove to Cam and Houck that he's a physical and smart blocker who doesn't make many mistakes.

If he can tackle well, he could go out there when we kickoff or punt. Hopefully, he has all the speed and quickness he needs to do it. I think Cam is going to put in a lot of time and effort into our punt/kick return team since we have Ginn now. Ted could get us an extra 10-20 yards per return maybe ... and perhaps run 2-3 of them back for TDs.

Sammy Morris is probably going to suspended again for roids or something anyway, better for us that he is no longer here. just my opinion.

Chatman was LT's primary backup in 2004. Jesse even rushed for over 100 yards on 11 carries, mostly in the second half, to help lead SD to a win over Jacksonville.

Unfortunately for Jesse, he came into camp in 2005 overweight and lost his job to Michael Turner.

With the emphasis that Cam puts on his FB, I think its safe to say we will have 2 FB's on this roster, which I am very cool with . . . especially since both will play a factor on special teams. Definitely will have 3 RB's . . . and I'm liking the chance of Chatman being that 3rd back. I still wanna see if Eckel suprises tho . . . I guess thats why TC is needed.

Sammy is as solid of a citizen as citizens get. He was suspended for a cold medicine his doctor prescribed.

It had ephedrine in it and ephedrine is a banned substance.

It was a case of the NFL's watch dogs not having enough to do.
 
Anyone know any info on RB Ray Perkins? He was with the Chargers last season for a brief time and then we picked him up so there must be something Cam sees in him, either that or he's just a camp body.
