Are we allowed to change players salaries on our team if they restructure?

Also is that throughout the entire offseason we run, or for a specific amount of time, because that could play a big factor the farther in we get into our season, because someone wants to wait out one of their players to see if they restructure instead of cutting them for cap reasons.

Also what if a trade goes through and they restructure after that? Does the salary stay frozen or is there cap relief that goes to the new team they are on?

Just wondering because there could be a lot of situations that come up if salaries are allowed to fluctuate.

Have to wait for Greg, but I think that all saleries that we use are frozen as how they are right now. Too much to follow if we follow every little salary restructure.

Here's the deal, I don't know about the trading thing, but if one of your team's players restructures, you CAN change their salary to their new restructured salary. It's no one's responsibility to look over this than your own. If you don't change it because you don't want to check the site once a week, that's fine. As far as trades, I'd wait for Greg to say something on that one.

Sorry bro but not the case.

Salaries for individual players will be taken from NFLPA.org between now and the start date and are frozen for the entire span of the season. The only way a players salary changes is if he is released and then resigned via free agency.

That is from the posted rules:wink:

Yeah we've always allowed restructures. It may not be stated well in the rules but it always comes up as a FAQ. Here's the deal. The player's salary has to change on NFLPA for you to change it on your roster. If you cut the player then re-sign him, the restructure doesn't count. If you trade the player to another team before he restructures, the restructure doesn't count.

that's cool to a certain point, but it can prolong a lot of things and slow this league down if everyone is waiting for their specific star players to restructure their contract, plus what if they get cut because of it.

Then should you also not force that team to cut their players as UFAs? I mean it's fine if we do somethings but you have to set firm lines or we're just making up rules as it goes along and oking some things and not others.

Of course that would put a lot of things in limbo. I always thought once everything started it would be frozen and force the GMs to deal with the specific teams they got.

You can see how things can get out of hand or rules miscontrued if we don't take a firm yes or no stance on the rules right now.

I don't understand what you mean by this statement.

As for the Restructuring...That's the way it's been for 5 years in this league.

Oh I'm saying, in regards to whatever happens on NFLPA.org is transfered over to this league. I Just remembered two years ago when I ran the Raiders I tried to use restructured contracts but got told that my salaries were frozen to prior to that and forced to change them back.

If it were a player you traded for or signed that would be the case. But if it were a Raider it shouldn't have been a problem. Like I said we've allowed restructuring for a long time. In fact at one point it didn't even have to be from nflpa. You used to be able to post an article saying a player restructured. Just a few years ago we changed it where it had to show up on nflpa before you could make a change.

Whats the deal with Dwight Freeney? I know in RL he is a FA but in here it looks like hes under contract.. how does that work out, just out of curiosity?

I've got Eric Moulds who appears according to NFLPA to be under contract but accoring to also be on the free agent list.

I think those guys all have contracts where the final season is voidable. It seems like there are alot of them this year. I've had a couple others brought to my attention and I've seen at least one on a trade block. We could make them all free agents, but I'm afraid we may miss some and then they get traded before we realize they were supposed to be free agents. That could cause a big mess. Suggestions?

I think in the format we are doing now, its probly better to keep them on the team they are on. Since they are technically under contract and are listed as a team member on NFLPA.Org, I'd play it safe and keep them as team members. If they were FA prior to GM League, Id say they stay FA but I dont think anyone is in that situation.
