When Ronnie has lined up in "wildcat" formation, has he had a negative yardage play from scrimmage when he keeps and runs himself.
Thanks

Not yet... the advantage to the wildcat is that it eliminates the QB/RB hand off which takes up valuable time. It is probably very difficult to stop the wildcat for a negative gain.

This is what i came up with for ronnies stats with teh wildcat when he keeps and runs with the ball. He hasnt lost 1 yard yet.

NE-runs of +2, +5, +62 = +69
SD-runs of +2, +12, +1, +4, +9, +5 = +33
Houston-runs of +7, +4, +4 = +15

So hes kept the ball 12 times for 117 yards for a 9.75 average.

(Im pretty sure i got all the numbers but dont kill me if i missed one or two.)

That's what i love about the wildcat... even if u take away the big play (62 yards) Ronnie still averages 5 yards per carry. Teams can say they have a way to 'stop' the wildcat all they want, but when a play averages > 5 yards per carry, it is a success.

I heart the Wildcat. Teams can try as they might, but they can't stop it. Even if they "stop" it, they still can't stop it if you know what I mean.

Basically if a team looks at "stopping" the wildcat as not letting us score, but run a 4-5 yard average everytime we run it, then keep it rollin baby!

EVentually it might get stopped, I see the wildcat as a present solution to how bad our team is, and freaking awesome, but still. ITs a present solution for our rebuild year. ANd somebody said that we were the most exciting team to watch in football! CHA CHING

It took a whole season to figure it out in college, so I would say the NFL will figure it out soon.... It is fun to watch. I think we have done a good job putting new wrinkles in the wild cat to confuse teams.....

Thanks, I didnt think he has had neg. yards from scrimmage. And wondering if we havn't lost a yard from this formation, those 4th downs last week were very attainable.
