I am a Canadian Phin Fan, never had the opportunity to get to a game yet, one of the things I have noticed though is that when we play the pats or jets after mid october there are alot of "snowbirds" living down in the area who make it to the games and seem to nearly take away the home field advantage. I am wondering from people who have been there, with the game being early september, will we avoid the New England fans in the quantities they usually arrive in??

Either way, for those of you in the stadium...make some noise! I will be joining you, making noise in Moncton, NB!

NO! Those OBNOXIOUS CHOWDERHEADS will be out in full force here Sunday!!

I have been to one Jets-Phins game in Miami and I would say there were at least 30% Jet fans BUT that Stadium that night was one of the best crowds and one of the loudest I have heard. even w/ the opposing fans you should still be bale to have a great homefield advantage.

Unfortunately for us native Floridians, and since NY/NJ and Boston are horrible places to live, many of them are now permanent transplants.

Last December the stadium was rocking during the pats game. I lost my voice. Hope it's like that again

That was the best Pats/Phins game crowd in a while. It was about 50/50 so the stadium was loud the whole entire time. Usually there are a little more Pats fans unfortunately. The home opener crowd last year was excellent, I am just not sure what to expect.

Hopefully the same result! BTW, thanks again for the parking pass.

I've never been to a game vs. New England but I have vs. the Jets and Bills. As you said, it's common for those living in the north to either move to Florida permanently or at least make a weekend trip during the year to see their team play. Why wouldn't you? Even if your team stinks you still get to wallow in tears at South Beach.

I'd expect there to be a lot of New England fans b/c they still have Brady and Belichick. Their expectations will be Super Bowl or bust with those two so the fans will always represent. On Miami's side, it's another year where they could be average so it's another year of the fans waiting on the team to prove they're worth a ****.

Home opener vs the Pats ? I expect a full house and plenty of noise. If you are a Miami fan that's the one game you don't want to miss.
Wish i could be there.

I am flying down from Nova Scotia for the game, usually go to a couple games in Nov, decided to go early this year to witness the excitement of a home opener. It is going to insane when we win. The atmosphere was awesome last year at the game I as at when we beat the Chargers. I can't even imagine what it will be like when kick some Patsy ass....Go Phins!!!!!! I am pumped already.

The venue is the worst in football relative to crowd noise and home field advantage, it's not our fans fault..it's the lack of vision from billionaires, proximity does not dictate an engaged fan, only the highs of the game will get fans to cheer, otherwise the venue produces a seated spectator sporting event..

A place like Seattle where the stand and fans are literally intimate with the field, you are compelled to stand and cheer and become a difference..so easy To replicate, you just have to have properly built venue to achieve..

I feel for our players, self motivation is key, having a coach that understands this huge disadvantage is imperative, getting them up by alterior motives for home games is pivitol.

the Stadium isn't the issue, many of the newer stadiums that is the issue.

Was that 2009...Monday night?

I've been to 2 Dolphin Jet games in Miami......and the large number of Jets fans just pumped us up to be even louder than normal.

It also made pre-game, half time and post game more interesting with large number of interactions.

It was a night game but much earlier than that. I was at the 1998 Sun Night game which was basically a game to take control of the division. It was a great game and a great atmosphere.
