Question about the Colts game.............

At the end of the game, when the pats stopped the colts on the one yard line, like three of their players ran to mid-field celebrating the play, one of them taking his helmet off. Now, the question is, Isnt this unsportsman like conduct? Not necesarilly celebrating the play, but the removing of the helmet? Didnt some team get screwed over after on player took off his helmet last year?

Yep, taking your helmet off on the field to celebrate befoer the end of the game is unsportsmanlike conduct...

but hey, it's the pats, the rules don't apply to them.

Play was dead and it was the Pats ball on downs.

When Dwayne Rudd did it, the play was still in progress.

Nice job reading the rules. The Pats got away with the helmet thing, but it became the Pats ball on downs and the penalty would have been enforced vs. their offense.

doesnt really matter if the play is over or not...Phillip Buchanon did it last week against KC after a punt return and they were penalized.

Even if they did get flagged, it would have been half the distance to the goal, which wasnt a first down, and the Colts would still lose the ball on downs. No biggie

Yeah, thats true. About the only thing that would have happened would have been that Brady would have had to fall forward to avoid the safety instead of kneeling on it, or just eat up enough clock to end the game and take the safety because the penalty would have pushed them back to far to kneel down... but they would have won it regardless.
