OK guys, sorry I can just now chime in on this, I was at work the whole night. Had to stay late. :yell:

Ok, I know I'm not the only one that read that this go round of the incident only brings missdemeanor charges, Is that correct?

Last year's go round was a felony charge because CaWanna was pregnant.

So, isn't it probable that the charges will be dropped? And, if they are not, a missdemeanor does not mean jail time, is that correct?

...Bottom line, Randy should not miss any time, right?

I am more familiar with the civil judicial system, not the criminal one. Anyone who is more knowledgeable care to help?

Thanks.

I believe it doesnt bring any charges if his wife doesnt testify.

Regardless of what kind of charges he faces, I'm pretty sure they'll be dropped.

Just asking, but what makes you think that? (just trying to get a little in-depth explanation, so thanks. ;) )

I think he should be suspended. not saying he will miss time, but rather he should.

Well we know his wife wont press charges just like she didnt last time. They probably both love each other but unfortunately in these types of situations the woman often think it is there fault or they did something wrong. She is also married to a millionare thats got to account for something whether we like it or not.

The only problem last year was she was able to not press charges dropping the case because they were the only ones present. This time there were 4 witnesses so it could be harder to make the case just go away.

Yeah, I know that. I know many people feel that way.

But that is NOT what I wanted. This is not another opinion thread, so I'd appreciate if only those who had some knowledge of the legalities of the situation would share that knowledge.

Thanks.

Thanks. But just because there were witnesses that means if Cawanna doesn't press charges someone else could? For something that has nothing to do with them???

A witness can't press charges. If Randy's wife doesn't want charges pressed against her husband, charges will not be pressed. It was a dispute between the two of them- no one else.

OK, that's what I was looking for.

So in other words, the only way Randy would miss a game is if the NFL disciplines him or Nick suspends him?

(not that that's all I care about. I'm just trying to get some legistics here.)

In at least some states, I believe the District Attorney can press charges if they feel a criminal act was committed, whether his wife would want them to or not, depending on the evidence that they have and the severity of the crime.

That could be. I don't know the law in Georgia. I am by no means a legal expert, but I was always under the impression that if a dispute occured between two people and one didn't want charges pressed against the other, the charges would be dropped.

OK, do you think a DA would think this is enough of a criminal act? A man and a wife getting into an argument with a slight degree of physicallity?

I don't know...

No- he wouldn't miss any games because of jail or court time.
