I know our pick is too high in the 1st to probably pick up LB Patrick Willis but does anyone think we have a shot of gettin him in the 2nd wiht our pick or would our only shot of getting him at his value would be trading down in the 1st?

No shot in the 2nd IMO. But you never know, I sure as hell didn't think Winston Justice would make it to the 2nd last year. So I guess there's a .1% chance he's there in the 2nd.

We'd have a much better chance at Puz or Beason in the 2nd.

There is a very, very slim chance that he falls to us in the second. At this point, he grades out as a mid to late first rounder. It really depends on how he performs at the Combine, if he dissapoints then there is a small possibility he could be there. If I remember correctly, Willis isn't exactly a physical freak and probably won't wow scouts at the combine like Manny Lawson did last year. He is a very smart, tackling machine who I think will look better on film than in shorts at the Combine. I could easily see someone like Lawrence Timmons having a nice combine and raising his stock past Willis. If he is there at 40, I would be thrilled to get him...but I doubt it will happen.

I see Pozlusky like this too. He might actually be around in the 2nd and I would be thrilled to get him on the team

Probably not Willis, I don't see him sliding into the 20's. However it is suspected Posluszny's stock will drop after the combine. This kid is a heck of a player on the field, and some predict him to fall as far as the 3rd round. He could be another Crowder if we can snag him.

If we want Willis we will have to make a trade to get a mid 1st round pick.
Green Bay would probably be the most likely partner. Guess what it might cost us?

poz is a wolb materuial n rated much higher last yr so all this dont come out early talk so u can go higher n make more money is slowly becoming not so smart. many drop n jrs take there spot. kinda like a deja vu thing. i really like spencer tho if hes therree hopefully in the 2nd. we have the 39th or 41st in round 2?

I've been an advocate of avoiding Levi in #1, but wouldn't mind seeing Puz in #2. Value-speaking, however, I think that both of our draft positions would be stretching for either player. Paul could have Zac-like stats. Thats how much that he's around the ball. Another work-a-holic. It would be perfect timing for "the changing of the guard" as well.

We have 39th in the 2nd (pick 7, since we picked 9 in round 1).

As for our picks right now of what I want:
1- Brown/Nelson/Landry
2- Puz/Spencer/Meachem/Rice(hope one of these WR slips)
3- An OLB if we don't get one in 2nd, or a CB of good value
4- BPA, hopefully DT unless we don't get WR in the 2nd
6- BPA
7- BPA

I agree about Puz in the second depending on who is still available. If a guy like Meachem or Rice, or some other highly rated player is still there in the second, i would prefer to go that route but if that isn't the case, I'd be fine with Puz. Injuries have been a problem for him, but when he is healthy he is all over the field. A guy whos play on the field is more impressive than he combine numbers will be.

Actually injuries haven't really been a problem for him. I don't think he's ever missed a start because of injury. He partailly tore his ACL(I think that was the only ligament) in the Sugar Bowl, but he didin't even need surgery for that. The trainers just made him wear the brace for a good amount of games to be safe. That's really the only injury he has had. I wouldn't call that an injury problem.
