I still hope that Ray will turn the corner eventually but here is a "what if scenario":

How long or how short is the "leash of patience" in Dolphins land?

How much time does Lucas have to become productive?
How much time does Lucas have to become a offensive player who will not cause turnovers?

1 quarter? 2 quarters? another game? or will Wannstedt stick with him no matter what?

If he turns the ball over twice in the first half against Baltimore, I say that's all she wrote for Mr. Lucas.

If he turns the ball over or can't move the offense when the game is on the line and we lose because of him, I say this is his last game.

I have NO IDEA what Wannstedt will do, actually, I do have some idea and I think I will end up pissed off, if you know what I mean.

If Ray Lucas plays like he did against Buffalo tommorow, look for someone else to start against San Diego.

I believe he's on a very short leash now, he's had plenty of time to adjust. I say he's got one half left to make it work, becuase we really need to win this one.

I think if he causes two or more turnovers in the first half Wanny will talk to him at halftime and Sage will be starting the second half. On Inside the NFL Peter King said that Wanny and Chan were losing their patience. King said he was under the impression Lucas would not play the entire game if he was performing poorly. This may be true and the right thing to do. However, I think it is completely wrong for Chan and Wanny to talk to the media so candidly. Lucas knows he has been screwing up. He doesn't need his coaches making these sorts of comments to the media. He is under enough pressure as it is and he really has improved every week.

"The Green Bay game was a Monday night game, he tried to do too much in the Buffalo game, he was going back home against the Jets, everything is out of the way now," Wannstedt said. "We are struggling and we need our home crowd to support us and support him and help us win this game this week. I believe that will happen. There are no more distractions. He has had three starts. He will be settled in this week." ...

If you read between the lines it says, " He better get it together this week.....he has no more excuses."

This leads me to believe that he may be as close to benching Lucas as he's ever been.

Wannstedt has to be even more sick of Lucas's play than we are. Hopefully he isn't more stubborn than we think he is and prepared Rosenfels. If he has then Ray is gone if he can't move the team or is giving the ball away. I think the change is made in the first quarter if turn overs are Ray's fault, the second half if he just isn't moving the team. There really is no down side to a change since Ray's confidence is already shot. We will lose the game anyway if he doesn't improve his play.

It's too bad Wannstedt or Turner are not more aggressive. The offensive game plan has already been scaled back so I think they should of prepared Dickenson too. He is considered short with no NFL experience but does have CFL championship experience.

Wanny's damned if he does and damned if he don't. If he pulls Lucas for a inexperienced and jumpy Rosenfels my guess is we still lose and Wanny takes it in the shorts for pulling Lucas. Between Lucas or Rosenfels, I don't care who plays as long as we move the ball offensively and we win.

:) :) :)

Who in Dolphin Land is going to criticize the decision to pull Lucas???

I don't think any of us would...

but I'm sure someone would in the media. Especially if Rosenfels plays worse than Ray and from what little I have seen of Rosenfels, I suspect he would stink it up as well.
Of course, I hope if Rosenfels does come it that he lights it up and we win. :)

Ray Lucas would, maybe.

I wouls say if we haven't scored at least 1 td by half time, and/or we are losing at half time due to Ray turning the ball over or just not moving the ball, we will see Sage in the 2nd half. Beyond this game if we losr Sunday no matter I would see Dave makeing a change just to try to add some life to a desperate team.
