How bad does Pennington have to play, for you guys to feel he should be benched?
Honestly.

What I don't understand is that if Henne played like that yesterday, some people would be calling for his head.

Why is it that the QB with 10 yrs experience is getting a free pass?

Numbers can be used for and against, in any argument.

Preseason means very little compared to the regular season, in respect to judging a player's outlook.

In Henne's ONLY regular season action, he looked better than Pennington in that game.

I think it's going overboard to start hating on him after preseason games.

Why not give him a chance in the regular season?

He hasn't even started a game yet.

IMO the two reasons we lost yesterday were b/c of the oline and quarterback.

I am a lot more worried about Pennington than anything else on the team right now.

because most of us here (i would think) realize #10 gives us the best chance at winnign right now. Henne will get his shot but after week 1, Pennington is done???

Henne played in GARBAGE TIME of a blowout loss. It doesn't compare to starting a regular season game. The biggest reason you won the div last year was b/c of the QB. Don;t be so quick to want to get rid of him though I hope it happens.

We also lost because of Fasano . . . in fact this is how I rank it

1. Fasano - 2 critical, critical fumbles and the INT Penny had was in his direction.
2. Pennington - Frustrated and it cost him to play very poorly, his poorest game as a Fin, and that includes both Bmore games and the Zona game from last season.
3. OLine - They get a tiny tiny break because I still think they need a few games to gel completely, but they allowed alot of pressure . . . decent YPC at 4.4. Jake and Carey have gotta play better.
4. Kickoff returners - Ginn and Cobbs really hindered us on those returns . . . they were 5 yards deep in the endzone and got us to like the 13 yard line every time . . . that hurt. I could see us going after a guy sooner rather than later.
5. Yeremiah Bell - I needed a 5th guy . . . and if Bell makes that tackle on Gonzalez and hold them to a FG, the game is still not out of reach. That bad attempt at the tackle just sealed the victory for ATL.

Honorable Mention to Dan Carpenter . . . yea he only kickoffed twice . . . but just watching the ATL kicker makes me want a guy who can constantly get it in the endzone on kickoffs even more.

So how many games is it going to be until everyone sucks and you fall off the bandwagon?

The same reason you Henne Homers try and put all the blame on Pennington when the O-Line sucks and the WR's can't get open. But Henne is god after all, and with a simple snap of a finger he can make the O-Line block and the WR's get open. Henne has shown he doesn't need to be any where near a starting lineup. 1 game means nothing, half the league is 0-1. Until we're out of playoff contention don't count on Henne starting.

Never. Even when Pennington plays great he sucks. They would much rather be right with the team playing ****ty than be wrong and have the team playing great. It's pathetic.

Your number 3 should be number 1. No excuse for that line play... Horriffic top to bottom.

Pennington is in the final year of his contract... if he plays cr*p we let him walk and recover that money uder the cap... Big deal.

Jake Long a first overall pick has an incredibly inconsistent preseason and then gets trucked by Abraham and co. like he was on roller skates. This is the guy meant to anchor our line for the next 10 years and people are obsessing on the QB who might be gone at the end of this campaign.

Right now I count 14 Pennington threads... and 1 Long in the main forum... and that is not counting the others that have been hijacked by Pennington haters. INCREDIBLE.

Umm, certainly more than one or two, especially when the entire offense sh*ts the bed, the o-line looks like a train wreck, and the tight end coughs the ball up twice.
