Something I have yet to hear anyone comment on, is the subject of Ricky as it applies to a new coach. Saban was very open to getting what we could out of Ricky even if it meant messing up chemistry. Depending on who we get I wonder if the next guy will take a chance on him.
I'll bet if it were Bates the answer would be "NO"!!!!!!

There's no way to tell without knowing who the new coach will be yet. When he's named then we can speculate. I did hear RW is intent on returning despite Saban leaving.

I think Ricky comes in as is treated like any other player. He'll have to earn his spot on the team or risk being cut.

A better question is, will Huizenga NOT force the new coach to accept Ricky?

Why would he? Huizenga has always let the head coach run the show and if he does or doesn't want Ricky back then that would be his decision and not Wayne's. We are not the Dallas Cowboys or Oakland Raiders where the owner has to have his input.

Pretty low on the importance meter. If he does, then fine...if he doesnt, no big deal. There are far bigger worries than whether or not a new coach will accept Ricky. Especially when even if he does, the odds are not much better than 50/50 that Ricky will actually suit up come opening day.

Ricky Williams said through his agent that he was sorry to see Saban go but he was going to apply for reinstantement in April and play for whomever the Dolphins coach is.

I sure hope so. We need #34. This offense can use any injection of talent that it can get. And having Ricky back does upgrade our offense in a meaningful way; well at least coupled with a coach that understands the value of having two stud RBs like Ricky and Ronnie.

Our new coach would have to be a complete MORON to NOT accept Ricky back...

Football is a business and like him or not, Ricky adds tremendous value and talent. Any new coach would have to work with him and try to get the most production out of him as possible. I think it was Mort, who said Bates would welcome back Ricky and be a likely coach to be on good terms with him.

He'll definitely be in camp. If he's the same Ricky of two years ago he plays as long as he stays clean. Pro Bowl player for backup salary is too tempting a combination for any coach to give up
