Good Afternoon Brian

How much money will it take to get you here as the GM?

You're hired

Mmmmhh while I sure do think he is the right choice I would certainly conduct a veeeery thorough interview... if anything to make a good impression on him ya know?

You're right. I would add the following questions:

Would you like to have Ross's mansion?

Would you like to have Ross's cars?

Would you like to have the keys to the city of Miami?

Where do you want you're office to be?

I think that there are a number of decent GM candidates. While the OP sees Xanders as a formality, candidates like Farmer, Licht and Gaine may also be formidable. Xanders is probably the favorite with Gamble a non-starter but Farmer sounds like he has a lot to offer.

Xanders has a proven track record and is a known commodity.

Is that spelled with an X? Please sign next to that mark, yes it's blank, just fill it out for however much you think we should pay you.

Was Xander the guy who fleeced JI for 2 seconds for BM? - I was indifferent to the move and knew their was something wrong with BM for Denver to send him OUT! And it wasn't for ability!

Exactly.

The fleecing of Ireland on the Brandon Marshall deal showed some negotiating skills (and this was an area Peterson excelled in at KC). JI was desperate for Marshall and Xanders recognized it. We haven't had too many examples for the past 5 years where we can confidently say that we got the best end of the deal. I'm struggling to think of one.
