After this I would target WR, OT, DT & CB's who drop due to combine/size/weight/length/injury issues.

Players such as CB-Jason Verrett, Lemarcus Joyner, Ricardo allen, Aaron Colvin, DT-Aaron Donald, Will Sutton, Dominique Easley, George Uko, WR-Jordan Matthews, Donte Moncrief,Paul Richardson, Cody Lattimer, Dri Archer OT-Joel Bitonio, Wesley Johnson, Charles Leno

why isn't Ben Tate in ANY of the conversations for a RB pick up

Patterson's cap hit next year is $5.4 mil ($5.3 mil with a $100,000 roster bonus). When you consider how good he was when healthy, it is not a lot of money for a high quality starting corner. It seems every thread I read with a plan for the offseason, wants to cut him. He might be willing to restructure, but there is no way I would let him go. Imagine a secondary with him, Grimes and a further developed L. Taylor and W. Davis (I personally think Taylor is going to be very good). With Tom Brady still in NE, The Jests probably upgrading their WR corps, and Buff on the rise, it makes sense to have as many good corners as you can.

Why is everybody so adamant in releasing Dimitri Patterson? I get he has a big cap hit but that can be restructured or even not not matter with 30M in cap space. The guy was a stud when he played should be healthy by the start of the season.

I don't think anyone will argue that Patterson is a huge benefit to this team when healthy. Problem is you take away reps, development of younger guys and salary cap with someone you cannot rely upon. Guy is just never healthy. I would love a restructure to a non-guaranteed, incentive only contract. I just don't feel his body is trustworthy. It has never shown otherwise, and he has been cut before because of it.

He has been injured every single year he has been in the league (10 years) except for one so chances are he WILL get injured next year. Although seemingly a great talent recently (keep in mind he showed nothing in his first two years in Miami and it was nice to see him make plays last year), he cannot be relied upon. Keep him if he lowers that number a few million, otherwise we need to say goodbye.

Can Dimitri Patterson return to full health? Groin problems can be difficult to overcome.
When healthy, he looked great. Much better than I expected. Grimes, Patterson, Carroll are a pretty solid unit.

Because he can't get through a season would be my guess, and if you can't get through a season at 25 years old, you're certainly not going to get through a season at 28 as a running back. And allegedly the Browns are very interested in and him and will break the bank to sign him for some strange reason. That in itself is enough reason to take our attention elsewhere.

Need to re-sign Nolan Carroll as well. He is a very smart footballer who gives 100%. One of my favorites on the team. He continues to improve and always competes. He even made some decent interceptions. Coyle has done a good job in developing him. One of the biggest improvers in 2013.

Even though Carroll was good last year with the rookies having a season of development under their belt i would go with jamar taylor and will davis over him. Idk why but i really like will davis.

for health and sanity purposes....find a new team to root for.

Did you see them play? We absolutely cannot rely on them. Carroll is a must resign although lets all hope he isnt forced to start.

I dont know why you really like Will Davis too.

Yes I did see them play and who do you thin was on the field at the end of the pats game? Will Davis. Thomas made the play but Davis was on the other side of the field locking his receiver down. Carroll has been inconsistent and injury prone aswell. I would go with the fresh guys who have potential over a guy who was shaky in his career all but last year.

Davis got completely destroyed by Brady in the 4th qtr when he came in. There is no two ways about it. Davis, from all accounts, was garbage this year and Taylor couldnt get on the field. As a team you do not go into TC without a back-up plan which is certainly needed with Taylor and Davis. Youre just asking for trouble not resgining Carroll for the nickle role.

Jimmy Wilson has played that nickle role for the past two years due to injury. Patterson is better than Carroll and it wouldnt make sense to cut him. They wont sign Carroll as a nickle when they already have a guy who can step in and play it. If Carroll gets resigned its because they chose him as a starter opposite to grimes who should be back.
