Notable: A native of Houston, Texas, Shelby is arguably one of the top undrafted free agents. Could add depth to the Dolphins’ 4-3 defensive scheme. A four-year all-academic all-conference including Pac-12 All-Academic first team in 2011. Received his bachelor’s degree in sociology last fall. He was a member of the first team All Pac-12 defense, and started 40-of-47 career games for the Utes. Began his collegiate career at tackle starting 10-of-12 games in 2008 before he was moved to end, which is considered his natural position. After 10 starts in 2009, Shelby underwent season-ending anterior cruciate ligament surgery suffering the injury against TCU. Noted for his athleticism, he has been criticized for needing to build more strength and not getting the most out of his natural ability.

Notable: Played a variety of roles along the Owls’ offensive line during his career including left guard and both tackle positions. Started all 13 games at left guard last season. In 2009, he was playing right tackle when he suffered a torn ACL, which cost him the final nine games of the season. A native of Queens, N.Y., he is third cousins of three-time Pro Bowler

Notable: One of his more memorable plays was a 41-yard interception return of USC quarterback
Matt Barkley. The play helped the Sun Devils snap an 11-game losing streak to the Trojans with a 43-22 victory. In 43 career games, Lyons finished with 116 tackles, 7.5 sacks, six pass breakups, two interceptions and two forced fumbles. Suffered a broken foot ending his season in 2010. A Corona, Calif., native, Lyons majored in criminal justice.

Notable: A former walk-on at Pitt, Alecxih earned a scholarship in 2009 before he became a two-year starter for the Panthers earning a second-team all-Big East nod. In 41 career games, he complied 127 tackles, 18 sacks, nine quarterback hurries, seven pass breakups three forced fumbles and an interception. Suffered an illness while attending the NFL Scouting Combine in February, which was so bad his roommate had to be reassigned another room, according to
LancasterOnline.com. One telling number was his bench press of 225 pound just 19 times while coping with the illness.

Notable: Three-year letterman, who started six-of-13 games in ‘11. Presented the Iron Bronco Award at the team’s season-ending banquet after collecting 24 tackles and two sacks. As a redshirt freshman in 2007, he was named the Defensive Scout Player of the Year. For his career, Root collected 55 tackles for 7.5 sacks, 13 tackles for loss and three pass breakups.
