The Dolphins will release Gus Frerotte if there isn't a CBA extension by Sunday night.
Frerotte is the 'Fins' most obvious target as his cap number is $7 million. However, if a CBA is reached, Miami would be $5-10 million under the cap. At this stage, Frerotte's release is officially pending. Mar. 4 - 10:44 am et
LeCharles Bentley denied a report he'll sign with the Eagles on Monday.
The two-time Pro Bowler is clearly not returning to New Orleans. "I would rather sit out a season than play for the Saints again," he said. "If anyone in that organization has any questions about whether I gave everything I had while I was there, then they can go to hell." Mar. 4 - 11:59 am et

Free agent S Lance Schulters is not expected to return to Miami.
If that's the case, the Dolphins would be left with two players who started games last season - SS Travares Tillman and second-year CB Travis Daniels. Clearly, the secondary will be a high priority area for the 'Fins. Mar. 4 - 11:34 am et

The Dolphins could consider CB/S Jimmy Williams with the #16 pick in April's draft.
Miami is expected to trade up for a quarterback, but could also sign Drew Brees. Williams would make sense for the Dolphins but may be long gone by 16. Coach Nick Saban loves taller defensive backs. Mar. 4 - 11:38 am et

Free agent C Justin Hartwig's chances of getting a big contract are slim.
Hartwig, 27, is an excellent lineman who's versatile and young. But the presence of other quality free agent centers including LeCharles Bentley decrease his market value. Hartwig is a Drew Rosehaus client. Mar. 4 - 1:53 pm et

The Titans will try to re-sign S Tank Williams.
The 6-3 Williams would fit in well for the Dolphins and could draw modest market value. He's expected to be fully recovered from 2004 knee surgery for the upcoming season after appearing sluggish last year. Mar. 4 - 1:55 pm et

Junior Seau is a cap-casualty candidate.
The 16-year vet's 2005 campaign ended in week seven with a calf injury. We see the Bolts giving the future Hall-of-Famer a one-year deal for the minimum to return home. Mar. 4 - 3:18 pm et

DE Kevin Carter could be cut.
It'd be ironic for the 32-year old NFLPA representative - who's currently taking in part in the labor negotiations for a new Collective Bargaining Agreement - to come home and be unemployed. Mar. 4 - 3:31 pm et
