With all the talk of Ricky looking so sharp in pre-season and TC, Ronnie's fairly fast comeback, the brand new offensive line and Grigsby beating out a promising young fullback on lead blocking... Our bi-surgeried, often rushed quarterback who had virtually 0 help from his receivers still made more pass attempts than any other QB so far.

I think he did a damn solid job in the 4th but with a run blocker picked number one overall, a well publicised one-two running punch and with a very questionable air attack, I personally think it would have been better to pound the Jets on the ground and use Penny's accuracy over 2nd / 3rd and mid length to move the chains.

I think we may have been a bit lacking on a game plan today.

We fell behind and needed to pass. The time where I think we should of ran the ball was when we were at the 3 yard line on third down instead we pass on 3rd and 4th. You know you are going for it on 4th if you dont make it on 3rd so why not run. We clearly didnt run enough today though we cant have less than 20 carries for the game when the best players on offense are the Runningbacks.

What they should have done that really pissed me off was these formations to run the ball. It obviously wasn't working. They should have 4 wide sets and then run the ball. Spread out the defense, especially in the red zone!!!!

doesn't work when the defense has no respect for your wrs.

well we are a running team. but when your down by 13 most of the game you kinda change you plan. so look to get more passing in to open the running game i know its backwards but unless we get a ton of running yards early we need to get the box emptied out by passing it down field here and there

exactly, they played us man to man on the outside and packed the middle to stop the run and pressure Chad. Until someone in our wr core starts making some great plays, it will be tough to run on 7 and 8 man fronts. Boy would it be nice to have chambers back

So were some of you complaining with the Playcalling when Pennington was throwing and we get our 2nd TD. Weere u complaining then?

Or was it when passing got us to the 12 yard line that you started complaing with like 30 secs left?

Oh I know. It was when Our next 3 pass attempts went INC and the last one a INT THAT ALL OF A sudden the play calling was bad.

I wonder what you would be saying if we run on the 1st or 2nd down eat up all the clock anad barely get 6 yards like we were doing all day. Oh and now that it is 3rd and 4 with 2 secs left we only have 1 chance to make it in the endzone.

The running game was ineffective. Get over it.

Or are you in referrence to the other time we were inside the 10 and ran twice for almost nothing?

this is what is going to happen all year.people will stack the middle, not only at the line but in the middle of the field to.this way they will make penny throw balls to the outside=people playing inside position(not good.)very very strange how they ran the back in motion to empty out the back field, just to move a guy to cover him.leaving the blitz 2 on 1 on the outside edge.i think we would be better off keeping the backs in.either picking up the blitz,or dumping it off to ronnie or ricky.we never ran any sweeps at all?never threw the quick 5-7 out?had cobb in why?didnt call a physical style game, especially in the red zone?this its going to take some time guys.fin fan and not going anywhere.

Commitment to the run has got to be the truest test of a OC and HC's metal... You get two 3 and outs and it is gut check time.. We have seen it a million times where teams come in talking tough about establishing the run only to throw it in the trash at the first sign of trouble.. then suddenly you get behind and that feeling of dread turns into outright panic.

Also the fact is both our guys (R&R) are slow starters and tend to come on as the game and defenses wear down... Next, having two power backs is not only a blessing but also a curse. Generally they need reps to find a rhythm... Hit and get hit to get in the game and establish momentum. unfortunately there are only so many to go round... I think it would help one or both of these guys if they made a single choice on the 'featured' back.

I don't think that winning with Pennington's arm was the gameplan... The Jets should get some credit for forcing us to play their's... their DL had a big game.

Hey give Pennington his props he allmost pulled it off but the truth is whichever team enforces their gameplan will come away with the 'W' every time.

TBH, we got away from our gameplan and what we are good at and thats the main reason i think we lost. We are not a passing offense and should never let opurselves be forced into a situation that calls for us to be that. However, we did and we saw some good things in a part of our team that is certainly lacking. If we got the running game going early and kept it going, I have no doubt that we could've/should've won.

They were being extremely aggressive..I wanted more shotgun 2 WR 1 TE sets and more sweeps with brown. Audible to the other side if one side is stacked against you.

The play action pass, thats what killed me. Pennington must have semi faked handing off the ball the entire second half, and they knew we were passing. That last drive, OBVIOUS passing situations and hes faking the hand off, like thats gonna help. I say use the SHOTGUN more and save the time looking off defenders, of focusing on the WR's.....thats what bothered me alot today...besides losing of course.
