seriously, list all the positions of need at this point on OUR team and give the top 3 based on their relevance to the topic. PEP can return to form (yes a ? lots to prove, but set with CPEP and lemon and maybe stanton in the third) our WRs have mad skills as proven in the past (chambers as slot, booker as deep threat? hagan as 3rd down?) not the best but it is there and there can be hope behind it, yes? . TE randy will be sick with strengh and conditioning based off him being a catch first TE which is what he is vs what they have been using him for. Ricky and Brown, ricky cheap and talented and brown is talented, best RB dueo in the league. On d, need a nose guard for the future, a 3-4 OLB and a corner that can be lights out. Wait is that 3 defensive positions labeled as needs vs 1 on the offensive side? If you go based on need alone QB is not nearly a priority until next year IF Cpep fails. I believe honestly that he prob will, but he does deserve a real chance if healthy. Deilman in FA with Brown in the first and Kalil in the second gives us room to cut james, not resign that macitosh (spelling on purpose) ipod chargers experiment fellow ( ;) ) and let sheldon go. this gives us crazy cap room and most likely solidifies our o line for 10 years. I dont think c pep is the answer but we need a line that can block for a rookie and with these moves whenever we get the qb of the f\\uture he will have a sick line to block for him and not make him lose his confidence while being sacked by the screen door that will block for him.

I don't think Marty Booker is much of a deep threat. Is he not more of a possession type who can sometimes pick up a few yards after the catch? Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

So what do you expect if Cpep is not ready? Another 6-10 year? Maybe 8-8? Then we still have no better shot at a franchise QB than we have this year. So why no go for it now?

I hate how people say if Quinn is there you have to take him. You don't take a guy just because he is there, that is a trap waiting to spring on you. You study the guy, and if you don't like him you trade down or simply pass on him. It wouldnt be a popular decision but I hope we dont just say 'Damn we need a Franchise QB we better take Quinn he is the best shot.'

I think you underestimate the importance of the QB position and what it could mean to have, who a lot of people think, a franchise player there. If you want to be a great team that contends for several years in a row, the QB position must be fulfilled.

Of course. Fans that say that, however, have already done that evaluation in their own mind. It can change...

He's not got great straight line speed and is far from being a burner but he plays the game extremely fast and has ended with great a YPC average the past two seasons now. I wouldn't class him as a deep threat though, that's still Chambers job.

Sign Stallworth to be our deep threat!!

LOL DO YOU THINK ABOUT THINGS BEFORE YOU STATE THEM?

Of COURSE we will study the guy (recent hiring of his former trainer Shea), and I think we do like him which is why you keep hearing his name mentioned in these forums.

Do you read things before you state a reply?

Where did I say a team doesn't study a player? I was talking about fans who say if a guy is there we have to take him, when NFL teams dont think like that and those fans have never scouted him at all like an NFL team does.

Finally, someone who understands the fundamental aspects of the game.

I'm just not sure about Quinn. I like what I've seen of the guy and I like the way many scouts predict he could come in an start right away. He also seems to be a perfect fit for Cam's offense.

With an ageing team (defense) however we should be aiming to win now and I think Levi Brown or Reggie Nelson give us the best chance to do that. I hope we take Quinn and he turns out to be a hall of fame quarterback but I'm also remembering Patrick Ramsey, Tim Couch, Akili Smith, Ryan Leaf, Joey Harrington to name just a few.

There have been busts at every position in the nfl in the first round.........

give Cpep, Harrington, Lemon another year...if no, then draft Brian Brohm...whatever it takes!

if you have a chance to draft your QB of the future which quinn will be wherever he goes you do it. miami apparently will have to have to move up a lot to get him if he falls past detroit and cleveland. next year brian brohm will probably be the number 1 overall pick, how much would it take to move up then to get him?
