I dont understand why Linehan is being blamed so much. We have had so many big play opportunities slip away because of either poor execution or penalties that just continue to hamper us.
How many times has Gus overthrown a deep pass?
How many times have we hindered ourselves with penalties?
Linehan has been putting players in great position to make plays but they're just not in sync.
We can probably win a couple games if Linehan decides to play wanny ball and give RB the ball 30 times a game like wanny did with ricky but then we would run him into the ground by week 10 and we would probably finish the season 9-7 or 10-6 and lose in the first round of the playoffs like we always did. But this coaching staff plays for the Super Bowl, not to save their job like wanny did.
Linehan tries to keep defenses honest by forcing them to defend the entire field, it's not his fault he doesn't have the players to do so. Those who question him are clueless. We should be able to complete deep passes consistently in single coverage but it's just not happening. This isn't Linehan's fault.
 
well i blame him... how many times did ronnie run and how many times did gus pass.... the running game was working and the pass wasnt.... ummm that means you run more.... he doesnt have Culpepper and Moss any more... gus just isnt a QB you use that much in a game when you have someone like brown... i mean... 2nd and 1... and he passes 2nd and 3rd.... we needed 1 damn yard

Exactly!.... If we can't complete a pass on 2nd and 3rd & 1 when the defense is likely playing the run, how can you blame it on Linehan. Linehan was trying to create a big play by surprising the defense but he just doesn't have the players. The o-line isn't vey good, Gus isn't accurate, and Chambers is overrated.
 
I have been in the coaches corner the whole season, but you have to be objective. Linehan has not been impressive as of late. It is his fault in the first place that Gus is here. And maybe he's not used to having a good RB, but there is no excuse for not running Ronnie more. The guy had 8 carries today and still almost had 100 yards. And the 2nd and 1 and 3rd and 1, was bad. I don't blame him for taking a shot on 2nd down, but when your QB has been struggling and you have a 233 lb back who can get that yard you need to take the first down. Anyone would tell you that. I think he will do a better job, but his play calling tonight was awful.
 
i hope so... i just hope he wasnt an OC that just did good with the team that he had before he came here... even culpepper isnt doing so great without Moss

Totally agree. The fact is Linehan is relying on Gus too much. He acts as if Gus is this great passer that can win us the game. When he really should be used more like Trent Dilfer was by the Ravens. A care taker, not asked to win the game, just asked to make safe plays and give us a couple of big plays.

Instead, we are trying to get cute and throw it on 2nd and 1 and 3rd and 1. That is something you do when you have Manning as the QB, not Gus. Take the first down!

And passing it 30 times and rushing only 14 times is disgusting. We average 6.7 yards a carry, however, Gus threw for 38%.

This offense isn't being run in a smart way. I dont care how many defenders are at the LOS, you have to run the ball more than we pass it because Gus can not get it done consistently.
