Dolphin, its whats for dinner
sorry if its been asked, i looked and didnt see it...
the first page of finheaven talks of browns contract. and says:
"Brown's contract is unusual in structure. A source said Brown didn't receive a traditional signing bonus but a roster bonus in the range of $2.5 million along with a guaranteed NFL-minimum base salary of $230,000 for 2005. The bulk of Brown's guaranteed money will come in the form of an eight-digit option bonus in 2006. Brown's base salaries also are guaranteed in future seasons."
so does this mean that the 19.5 million signing bonus is not really a signing bonus, and also NOT garenteed. and if ricky runs well for the fins, the team can simply NOT pick up browns option, and all he gets is the 2.5 million + 230,000 salary, and becomes a FA???
that sounds like a HUGE risk for him to take. especially with R. Williams comming back. cus there is no way in hell he will get 19 million signing bonus as a FA.
