Here's a truly radical idea for draft day. There doesn't appear to be a consensus player that Miami wants at #1, there seems to be 3 or 4 guys they like, and we're all aware of the cap crushing contract that the #1 pick is going to get.
Soooooo, when they're on the clock, let the clock expire and don't make a pick at all. The Rams can then go the podium and make their selection within their time frame or Miami can go to the podium. And the same thing with continuing pick slots (as happened to the Vikings once a few years back when the clock ran out on them). If the Phins wait 2 or 3 positions, they still get a player they like but take him at say position 3 or 4 and don't pay him #1 overall pick money.
Excluding the PR and media flack that would follow, maybe not a completely crazy idea? I'm not implying they should do this, but food for thought.
