I just got an update on my phone (from ESPN) that the Raiders have hired former Jets offensive coordinator. Tony will have the title of the Raiders Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Line Coach.

The Oakland Raiders have hired former Jets offensive coordinator Tony Sparano as their assistant head coach/offensive line.

Here's the info, hot off the press.

Here's a link talking about Sporano meeting/interviewing with the Raiders a couple days back.

Former Miami Dolphins head coach and former New York Jets’ offensive coordinator Tony Sparano is a potential offensive line coaching candidate in Oakland. He interviewed for the same job in Kansas City, but new Chiefs’ coach Andy Reid hired Andy Heck instead.

I think Sparano would be a good addition to the Oakland Raiders staff because of his experience. He also has a good track record as an offensive line coach. Oakland is also looking for a linebackers coach.

I have heard he's an oline guru........

At least Tony can be a grandfather figure for that small child they have as HC.

Now, as they try to reverse 10 years of no playoff appearances, they’re adding a former head coach to their staff.

If they want to reverse 10 years of bad luck..... this might not be the smartest way of going about it.

Well the last time Tony had extended success was in the same position at Dallas. Maybe he's just one of those guys that can only focus on one thing and be successful.

Even seems to be a promotion in some sorts. How people that have failed miserably in this league continues when so many fresh faces are out there blows me away. Good to be a member of the good ol boys club I suppose.

Must have left the Dolphins o-line play despite investing heavily in it off of his resume. Savvy move on his part.

This whole damn league has the brain worms if this guy keeps getting work.

Haven't the poor Raiders fans been through enough? This is just brutal!

I'd better not hear anyone ever complain about being unemployed.

If Tony Sparano can get a job and you can't then I just don't know what to tell you.
