Raiders new head coach

I'm thrilled with Philbin, over most everyone available, but still have to wonder why we didn't look at the more successful of the two Mile High coordinators. :idk:

It has been re-itterated that the Packer coaches who leave don't take guys with them. And the secondary coach for the Bengals is interviewing for the position this morning.

it's my understanding that it applies strictly to lateral position poaching, not promotions.

PBP has an article how Philbin will not pick over the Packers staff. I do not see it happening.

I've heard Moss is not an X's and O's type of guy but more of a motivator...I would rather get someone who can scheme and put together a game plan for the defense.

I have read that too that he is not good with the X's and O's but a great motivator which may not be enough to get him a DC position yet alone HC.

It applies to anything that's not a head coaching job.

@Vaark, you are right, if the person is getting a promotion then they do not mind.

@vagrantprodigy, if you look in the article there is a part that says:

"The Packers won’t stand in the way of someone having the level of their job “significantly increased,” especially if a similar opportunity doesn’t exist within their organization."

With all of that said Winston Moss was promoted to Assistant Head Coach on January 15, 2007, so I dont know if you could consider DC a promotion.

I was talking about the league rule. Teams can block a guy from interviewing from any job that isn't HC if he's under contract.
