Rams | Team has interest in Frerotte
Thu, 16 Mar 2006 08:46:14 -0800

Bill Williamson, of the Denver Post, reports the St. Louis Rams have interest in free agent QB Gus Frerotte (Dolphins). Rams head coach Scott Linehan was Frerotte's offensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings and the Miami Dolphins.

Makes sense, Linehan wants this guy back. I'm afraid it will now come down to money. Not sure what the rams are willing to offer. He'd be a solid backup for us.

Jaime Martin might not be too bad as a backup. The rams would have to release him to get Frerotte, maybe a swap, i don't know.

I thought Gus did well last year considering, it would make sense that he would follow Scott Linehan. I would like to see him stay in Miami as our backup

yeah, but Miami should definitely not get into a bidding war with St.Loius for a backup qb. I had a feeling at some point Linehan would want to get Frerotte when he was released, he loves that guy.

Wouldn't Gus go to St. Louis as a backup. They do have Bulger last time I checked. What's the difference between staying here and going to St. Louis since both will be as a backup.

Cause he got slapped in the face here heh heh. Pride will take him to St. Louis or Denver.

I could see him going to STL since Scott Linehan is there. I honestly dont see him coming back to Miami.

I would like to have Gus back for another year as a backup. It doesn't appear that's going to happen, St. Lious would be an obvious choice for him because of Scott.

Money, Money, Money! Not to mention that he might be a little ticked off that we asked him to redo his contract and when he wouldn't, that we cut him. I for one hope he has thicker skin than that and puts his ego to the side and resigns here. The only other difference is that he MIGHT be the week one starter here if Daunte's not ready to rock and roll.

I bet Linehan gets him, they seem to be buds and Gus is pretty good at implementing his offense, he's just not accurate enough

No real surprise there. Looks like Gus will have his choice of where to go.
