ESPN's Matt Mosley says he "knows for a fact" the Rams are "in love" and "infatuated" with Ohio State DE/OLB Vernon Gholston.

Mosley doesn't believe they'd take him second overall, though, and mocks Michigan OT Jake Long to St. Louis with the No. 2 pick. It's worth noting that the Rams drafted defenders with the ability to play in both a 3-4 and a 4-3 in 2007 (Adam Carriker/Clifton Ryan). Gholston also falls into that category.

so the same guy who reports that they are in love with him doesn't think that they will take him at #2.....if there is any news here, it's not good for Miami as it points to St.Louis trading down, not up.
 
Anyone know the status of Olando Pace? Wasnt he hurt last year, which is why there is all the Jake Long talk for them?
 
how can the rams feel that long will be there next left tackle,replacing pace for the next 10 years.the second most difficult position to play.when we pick an de or out side lb,or combo player for the 3-4 defense ?somebody doesn't have a clue,or somebody knows something we dont.it just doesn't make any sense at all.
 
The Rams have ALex Barron RT they could switch to Lt if needed. FSU used rotate flip-flop OL all the time, Alex should be used to it.

Provided he doesn't false start.
 
I doubt Pace goes anywhere, but if he does its hard to see the Rams passing on Long. Both he and Barron could be given a shot at LT, with the "loser" going to RT. There, OL is bookended for a decade end of story.
I am not at all convinced we are taking Chris at #1, I think its a real tight race between the Longs and Gholston for us, and the same will go for the Rams.

On a side note, I read somewhere that the Rams DC likes the 3-4 and is pushing to implement it, going along with the players they drafted last year, I would not be shocked at Gholston going to rams if he makes it past us.
 
Lets hope they bite and move to get him. Ha
 
we should be showing "infatuated" interest in everyone. Long, JLong, Dorsey, McFadden, Gholston. therefore SOMEBODY trades with us. id love to move back into the 15 range, so we can select Brendan Albert. he would be a HUGE asset to this team, start on Day 1 and provide lanes for Brown and protection for Beck.
