Hall

The St. Louis Rams traded a fifth-round pick in this weekend's NFL draft to the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday to acquire one of the NFL's most dynamic kick returners.
"We have filled a need with one of the top players in football at his specialty, returning punts and kicks," Rams coach Scott Linehan said. "Dante will fit in nicely on our special teams and can be utilized as a receiver in certain situations."
Hall has 12 career kick-return touchdowns, one behind Eric Metcalf for second all-time. Brian Mitchell holds the NFL record for kick-return TDs with 14. Hall had one kick-return touchdown in 2006.
Last season, Hall returned 53 kickoffs for a 22.8-yard average and 27 punts for an 8.9-yard average. He also had 26 receptions for two touchdowns.

Maybe this helps with the Green trade as far as picks go?

There goes all the wow factor on Ted Ginn. No need for gimpy ginn now.

I am not sure it helps with the Green trade, but I think this takes St. Louis out of the Ginn sweepstakes

PFT reported that the whole love affair with Ginn was a smoke screen.

If anything I think it makes "no-sense Peterson" even more bold in saying, "hey, if we can get a fifth for our vet kick returner, we should get a lot more for our QB". Once again . . . . apples to oranges, but you know they'll go there. :shakeno:

There's an update to this trade:

Chiefs | D. Hall trade update

Wed, 25 Apr 2007 09:19:11 -0700

Updating a previous item, Adam Teicher, of the Kansas City Star, reports the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Rams have swapped third-round picks in this year's NFL Draft as part of the trade which sent WR Dante' Hall to the Rams Wednesday, April 25.

PFT reported that the whole love affair with Ginn was a smoke screen.

i am sure it wasnt. they did end up taking the same player virtually so they 'picked' the same need they were talking about. Just means the chiefs will prob take ginn now.

Hall is not the same player as Ginn, He is like 4 inches shorter and far from as refined as a Wr as Ginn.

BTW the Rams got rubbed cause the chiefs switched third rounders with them and the also had to give up a 5th. While the Chiefs only got rid of a player who has not done much in the last two years, but return kicks. In my opinion it shows Mueller is doing a good job and not bending over like Spielman did in past years for QBs who were not worth 2nd rounders.
