per RealGM, Kentucky Center Randolph Morris signed a 2 year deal with the New York Knicks.

For those of you wondering how this is possible here's the explanation.

After his freshman season Morris entered the NBA draft, but went undrafted making him a free agent. He played summer league ball with Atlanta, but ultimately decided to try and get reinstated, BUT he got to remain a free agent.

Glad the kid was allowed back to school and everythings worked out the best for him...but that's still wacky.

Yeah, he actually could have signed with an nba team at any time during the college basketball season if he chose to.

Is he any good? *Not a huge college ball fan but casual Knicks fan*

never signed with an agent. The kid played this very smart actually

He has a very nice, soft touch around the rim (definitely a finesse player). However, he sometime lacks physicality, determination, and emotion. Morris would be a first round pick (possibly even a lottery pick) if he could enter the draft this year, but the knicks are getting him without wasting a pick. I would say it is definitely a good move.

I liked him 2 years ago, rare to find back to the basket kids with a nice assortment of post moves. With some tutoring from Mark Aguirre (NYK bench coach) he could really improve.

He's an ok player. Was coming into his own towards the end of the season. He makes Tim Duncan seem animated on the court. He's got an NBA body but seems to have no desire. Never really demanded the ball though he was Kentucky's best player. It's a no risk move by the Knicks and if given time I think he can turn out to be a decent player.

The Knicks are going to have some nice depth if Morris does turn out.

For a tiny sample size, Morris dominated UNC even though Kentucky lost.

10 for 11, 21 points. 3 blocked shots, 7 rebounds.

He is pretty raw, but could be pretty good. He has an NBA body for sure. In an unrelated story, I got wasted with Morris and some friends at a dorm party at GSU. He was friends with a girl that lived across the hall, needless to say it was a fun night. I remember alot of things being broken in that girls dorm that weekend.

Your right, this guy can play. He's got a chance to be a very good contributor on the NBA level. I just fear that he's not going to get a fair shake with the Knicks. With Curry, Lee, Frye, Balkman, and Jefferies, I hope he doesn't get lost in the shuffle!

He'll only be lost in the shuffle because of Isiah.

Lee should be very limited because of the ankle. Frye has no balls. Jeffries can't shoot.

So lets go with Balkman and Morris. :D

And the only way this team has a chance is if Starbury stops randomly chucking threes, but I think his legs are tired. There is only so much a 30+ old small guard can do especially with those knees.
