25. Miami Dolphins Projected starters: WR DeVante Parker, WR Jarvis Landry, WR Kenny Stills, TE Jordan Cameron Key depth: WR Leonte Carroo, WR Jakeem Grant, TE Dion Sims, TE Thomas Duarte Key stat: Rookie Leonte Carroo (Rutgers) dropped just two of the 96 catchable passes thrown his way over the past two seasons. The Dolphins’ wide receiver and tight end group has a lot of potential, it’s just that, outside of Jarvis Landry, we’ve yet to see it fulfilled. Landry is one of the NFL’s top receivers in space, forcing 28 missed tackles on 110 receptions a year ago. DeVante Parker is a player we were very high on coming into the draft last year, and we saw flashes of how good he can be in the final five weeks of the season after injury slowed him down earlier in the year. Showing he can be very dangerous with the ball in his hands, Parker forced seven missed tackles on just 26 receptions. Tight end Jordan Cameron was a disappointment in his first season in Miami, but is two seasons removed from an 80-catch campaign in Cleveland. If Cameron can replicate his impressive 2013 season, and Parker can continue the momentum of his strong 2015 finish, this is a unit much better than their current 25th ranking. https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-ranking-all-32-nfl-receiving-corps/

They will finish much higher than this.

As always these lists make little sense.

NE really has the best WR core in the league? Sure Gronkowski is a top talent and Edelman is really good. Anyone else is decent at best.

Cincy at 10? AJ Green is elite but the article admits they lost their #2 and #3 WRs in Sanu and Jones but it doesn't hinder their ranking. Brandon LaFell is their #2 now and his season was on par with DeVante Parker's. Eifert had a better year than Cameron so maybe that did it for them.

Detroit's WRs are nothing without Calvin Johnson.

Minnesota's WRs aren't better than Miami's.

There are a few others but I don't have the time to write about all of them.

Suppose for a minute that our starters match their best season or project their production for a full season....

DeVante Parker: 1317/8 (last 6 games projected over 16 games)
Kenny Stills: 931/3
Jarvis Landry: 1157/4
Jordan Cameron: 917/7

Total: 4,322 yards, 22 TD's

^^^^ then throw in the catches from the running backs and you are looking at a slam dunk pro bowl season for the AN throwing the ball.....off-season dreaming, it could happen though.

they actually put NE as the number one WR core in the league? are you ****ing kidding me?

I bet in the next week they'll have another article shipped out about how Tom Brady makes these incredible playoff runs with "average joes" at WR. So which is it? amazing brady and bellichek for winning with nobodies, or their #1 wr core in the league.....god damn the fluff job by the nfl is ridiculous.

Ranking top 500 NFL news media on internet:

500. PFF....New England #1. Miami Dolphins #25, even though Parker, Landry, and even Stills would instantaneously be starting at WR? Fail with a capiital F-

Yep....Jay Ajayi, Dion Sims, Leonte Carroo, Jakeem Grant, Kenyan Drake

no doubt we're better than 25th. They'll find their way up the list in no time.

Real world is . . . won't happen. The ball will be spread out, limiting the totals. Nonetheless, it illustrates the point about Miami's receiver corp.

or Balt at 12 w an antique Steve Smith and Mike Wallace.

The list is moronic. NE doesn't have the best core. Who can get deep on that team? All those guys outside of Gronk are pedestrian or really good slot guys.

Jacksonville has 2 studs on the outside + Julius Thomas. Miami's core is much higher than ranked.

The entire Dolphin team has potential. I don't blame anyone for thinking they'll stink until proven otherwise. I read an NFL Preview magazine or two at the grocery store recently and Miami was picked to finish last in both magazines with a 7-9 and 5-11 record. I don't blame people for feeling that's how it'll play out.

Correct, but he's my problem. Landry, Parker, Stills, Cameron have shown talent. No, not all in Miami, and all to varying degrees, but the talent has been proven. Why the author seems obsessed with "potential," I don't understand. Cameron's numbers were down in '15. A lot of that due to him being mostly a pass blocker. Rate the receivers based on talent shown. Good enough for me.
