What ranking standard are we using? Ranking highest the ones that would cause the greatest pain if they went down? (Then the quality of the backup comes into play.) The likelihood of them going into the H.O.F.? (Hard to assess and may not be reflective of their value this year, see: Jason Taylor.) The chance of them being the best of the NFL in their position this year? (Ginn might have monster numbers with Cutler throwing to him, but may not be the best receiver for Chad P.) I find it hard to assess or argue your ranking if I don't know the standard. Not trying to be critical, just trying to wrap my head around the thread.

Fun post. I think you have Crowder ranked much too high, but overall a very nice list.

Finally someone who gives Bell his due. Although ranking him behind Crowder is a joke.

Some idiot here ranked Yeremiah like 16th on our team a little while ago.. Sixteenth of our 22 starters ? Yeah right. That noob better watch the games closer.

Bell was our MVP on defense last year on a game to game basis. He was fantastic and was flying all over the field. It's no coincidence that our defense totally fell apart in 2007 when Bell got hurt.

He is very instrumental to this defense.

Phillip Merling will certainly be on that list before the season is over.

Maybe Tony McDaniel too.

The Dolphins have a great defensive line rotation. A lot of young and strong talent there.

I think our starting O line should all be in the top 15. Chad penny would be 1 for me....

also I like Crowder being high, seriously remember what happened in KC? but Bell should be over him IMO

Carey is way too high. He is just average. Grove above Williams?? Grove should be down near the bottom...he may be better than Satele...but that is a low measuring point...

also I would have langford in the top ten easily, he is a beast in stopping the run and he can bring pressure. He is only gonna be better and is gonna be on this team for a while.

edit-I can't find it but can anyone find the stats for him in college against the run, I remember someone posting on draft day or that week after. He had some good numbers when people ran at him. I think according to Football outsiders or whatever he was one of the better D lineman against the run also

I was basically rating players based on contribution, talent, and opinion.

Obviously Ronnie Brown could contribute more, but he's absolutely the most talented player on our offense.

The players in BOLD are players that I'm really excited about this year.

What about Gibril?, He was nasty on the Raiders and they sucked.

I told ya so.

And I told ya so Yesterday....Before the awesome game he had today.

This guy can really REALLY play....

I cannot believe so many of you totally overlooked Merling.... Because he is a very talented player at that position.
