Rapoport: Dolphins open to trading Waddle, benching Tua is on the table if he continues to struggle

He was awful against the Browns and Colts. He was not awful against the Ravens. Do I want him gone, at this point yes. Just calling a spade a spade.
25/40 for 261 yards, no scores and a pick is pretty bad in today's game. The balloon throw that turned a 43 yard TD into a 30 yard catch that nearly got Waddle obliterated is a microcosm of who he is and he took some sacks that a wounded sloth could've avoided. It was a bad performance by a very mediocre QB.

A 63% comp rate, especially if you consider the bad drops etc, is OK and about league average. His 260 yards passing is near top of the league in passing yards per game. The 1 INT was just an attempt at nothing at that point. Yes it counts, but for 99% of the game Tua did what he had to do to help win the game. He wasn’t great, but he wasn’t awful or bad this last game.

That throw to Waddle might have been called back regardless but yes it's a good example of his limitations...

Look at this screenshot. Look where Waddle is and the defenders are. Why is this ball thrown so highly ? If you throw that ball on a line, Waddle can run it in for a TD. Instead he throws it with this unnecessary loft and gets Waddle walloped. Every deep pass Tua throws is this lofty garbage variety because he has no arm strength.

Straight up for Kyler? I’d do that in a heartbeat.
The only reason I’d want Kyler on the Dolphins is to watch this place meltdown when he threw his first patented grounder on an Achane screen pass lol.

When a guy’s got a ‘foot injury’ and a secret benching (they have literally denied it, which tells me it’s true) for Jacoby Brissett, you aren’t an NFL starter

Kyler has been a victim of incompetence. He’d be a perfect QB for McD. Scrambling ability, strong arm, accurate, and good anticipation.

This is the one area where I can appreciate Ross…..he’s proven to be pro tank before, and that’s the direction the team needs to take the rest of the season. I’d bet that noise is coming from his direction. Tua still gives this team the best chance to win, especially with games against the Saints and Jets remaining on the schedule. With Wilson or Ewers starting, this is very likely a 2-15 team locked into the first overall pick. That is the absolute BEST case scenario in terms of finishing the season.

Here’s to rooting for a 3+ turnover game against Buffalo next week. Hopefully the offense doesn’t produce a touchdown again. Season is over. Winning is detrimental at this point.

As for Waddle…. I’d prefer to keep him but if a team offers a 1+ that’s a no brainer to take it and run.

I feel the same way about Achane who isn’t really being mentioned, so likely isn’t being discussed I’d assume. If a team wants to give up a crazy package for him I’m taking it.

We can agree to disagree, but Kyler’s incompetence is a big factor IMO.

He’s a shorter, slower, quicker-twitch Justin Fields from what I have seen. If he played in a place people watched or cared about, he’d be viewed as possibly the worst second contract QB in the league

exactly, still not even remotely good enough to justify 52 mil/yr

Well, if we’re going to just pick out a QB’s worst games no QB is worth $50m per year. They all have bad to average games.

I think I see a lot of great plays and a lot of poor execution, at times from him too, in AZ. I think he could be a really good QB. I think that’s true for a number of QB’s on bad teams.

disagree, playmakers when it counts is paramount in my eyes for a QB and Tua does not have that. He has the non killer persona. Why else would we lose almost every time in primetime, away in iclement weather, important must win games etc? It's def not all on him but he usually collapses when we need the offensive leader to come up with a big play when we need him most. Lastly, he is getting worse lately imo, running backwards at the slightest pressure, fumbling snaps, turtling when a pass rusher is near him, etc. He sucks, he is a 24 mil dollar QB (and that's generous) ala Baker Mayfield who I would take in a heartbeat over this glass pane.

Man, I don’t. I see a very athletic guy playing QB and doesn’t know how to play it and couldn’t play right if he did.

It’s my Lincoln Riley rule with QBs. Don’t take them earlier, because even though they might have talent, they’ll take twice as long to develop if they even can get there. Riley doesn’t do anything transferable to the next level, but Murray thrived in college doing college stuff.

Caleb Williams and Kyler are the standard here to me. Baker took 6 years and 4 stops to get it right. Hurts wasn’t there long enough to infect him with the poison

I was out on dart for similar reasons. He’s impressed me so far however.
