Ravens release veteran safety Lardarius Webb

He has some ball skills even as a vet but I think we lock up Nate Allen today I've heard some people in league sources believe its a done deal. If that's the case I would roll with Allen and a draft pick.

I like both......As backups, which is why I prefer Nate Allen for his special teams ability. There's probably going to be a rookie starting back there. Give me Budda Baker, Marcus Williams, or Marcus Maye in the second.

You obviously don't remember Webb's interception of Tannehill last year.

Former corner turned FS. If we're after range, he's our guy, but plays like a corner in run support iirc and a little long in the tooth

I think we could get a little more outta Nate Allen but I do like them both at FS.... however I think with the loss of IAQ the need for FS became huge and if we dont sign either of them or another stopgap for a few years we may draft one early...still think LB is the bigger need
 
Raven's can't pay everybody after resigning Williams.

Webb would be a decent FS option.
 
Webb would be a nice FS option... experienced, still a playmaker/solid range, and would compliment Reshad Jones well.

If everyones favorite thing about Nate Allen is that he's good at ST then I would be worried to have him as my starting FS. Call me crazy, but I want my favorite thing about my safeties to be their safety play... I already have guys like Walt Aiken and Michael Thomas who are excellent STers but scare me ****less when they take safety snaps.
 
I saw Webb play a few times last year and I thought he was very very good. Ballhawk. Will make plays and get turnovers. Jones would be the run stuffer and webb our coverage guy. It's a nice combo to think about. And he wouldn't be overly costly. Can still draft a safety as well.
 
We need to draft a safty or linebacker 1st pick. Hoping tj watt or peppers there. If both there. That's a tough decision
