Ravens sign CB Rashann Melvin off Dolphins practice squad

never heard of him

I like it because any DB on the roster/PS that competes with Davis and Taylor is a good thing. Their lack of progress is disappointing and is on them.

Sounds like they're taking a page from the Bill Belichick school of game planning.

Ehh..... not sure how much they will get from a PS player.

More like a bottom depth chart move to replace Jimmy Wilson as the depth chart gets bumped up a slot.

(Not sure if sarcasm? :idk:)

So the most depleted secondary in the NFL takes PS player from the phins. And this is what you come up with.

No. I mean I want to see the roster churned at CB and create more competition for Davis and Taylor to maybe get the best out of them. If Melvin was marinating on the PS then it was not that much of a push.

Find another player that could be better. I am not impressed with Davis or Taylor at all.

Your logic escapes me, if there was a another player out there that could be better than Melvin, then why wouldn't the Ravens take that player instead?

This happens all the time. Melvin was never going to start on this team. This whole transaction is nothing more than an insignificant footnote.

I agree that Taylor and Davis have been a disappointment to this point. I was hoping one of them would be pushing for a starting role.

I love threads like this. How does this thread get 2 pages?? Lets keep it going and see how long we can make it.

does anyone know this works, the ravens sign that guy, can the player refuse or does he have to sign and can the team that owns him decide to activate him too and keep him from being gone ?

I can think of a lot of players and instances lately when the Ravens have missed. My point is if Melvin could not make a move up to the active roster to push Davis and Taylor and help on special teams, turn the page and find another guy.
