I think the problem is that, when many of those picks didn’t work, they blew their cap on WRs and Edges — often from trades.

Also, with that, the old “show me your budget, and I’ll tell you your priorities” thing comes to mind

Yeah, but once you get the QB on that second deal, real decisions have to be made. Those didn’t include prioritizing the line play.

And they wasted the QB rookie deal by trading for high priced players like Chubb and Hill to destroy the cap. Obviously, both are good players, but they tried to cheat the process like this is Madden. Thus, the GM is fired
