the '72 Dolphins better watch out... In a good interview about Steve McNair, Ray recounted a conversation with Steve about "how many points are you going to give me?" Steve said 24..thats when Ray said the 1972 Dolphins need to be worried. I enjoyed the whole piece as I am a Steve McNair fan. I am NOT looking forward to the Ravens being good, but I feel as long as Steve is healthy, they are as good a pick for the SB as anyone in the AFC.

I was shocked at the statement. As a Dolphin fan, our '72 season is never far from thought. I am rather surprised that it would be in the thoughts of active players. Apparently, THEY see the undefeated season as an important benchmark too. We get called homers for brining it up, but this shows "others" think about it too.....Our '72 team is STILL renting space in football players heads 30+ years later...too cool.

no way no team will ever go undefeted in this day and age.

I wouldn't put my life on that . . . anything is possible. The season is only 16 games with 3 playoff games. The Colts were what . . . 13-0 last season, they were right there . . . I could definetly see it happening, it will be tuff, and unlikely, but to say never . . . nah.

The D, while still good, is nowhere near the '00 or '02 level so if Steev his healthy they'll obviously be better but if they make the postseason they aren't going far.

Hard to say its only a matter of time. Colts came close, and the Vikings came close.

agreed.

if they had this offense and that 2000 defense, they wouldnt have a shot IMO. that defense was absolutly insane.

It would be kind of funny if they lost game one

But seriously if Mcnair stays healthy they could be a 12-4 team, which with some luck could push at undefeated, but again it would take a lot of luck also

Even if mcnair remains healthy, he's not consistent enough to play well every single game. Ask Sam Madison about that.

theres no way they will go undefeated.mcnair will get hurt soon anyways.if he does boller goes in:chuckle:

i love ray and all but he is just trying to get the ravens some media attention

Even with McNair they aren't nearly good enough to think about it that.

I feel the same way, I was just surprised to find it on "players" minds. In most threads you will hear lots of "ancient, irrelevant history" comments. Maybe they are to us, but a least one very good pro thinks about it as the ultimate goal.

The only team to really have the best chance was the 85 Bears, totally unstoppable, not even close to the Colts or Vikings...

Unfortunately they had to go through the Dolphins to do it...

Now way Shula and Dan would let that happen...
