Rays of hope in Sunshine State

Neither Miami (Fla.) nor Florida State, nor the Orange Bowl for that matter, wanted the matchup that ensued last New Year's night. The coaches were less than thrilled because the two rivals had played each other during the regular season. Orange Bowl organizers weren't pleased either, given two intrastate teams meant fewer hotel rooms filled.
