We'll get a decent patchwork O-Line w FA and later round draft picks. Got a serviceable veteran FA QB, got the #2 WR.

Who will start in the backfield? Ronnie Brown won't be ready game day, probably mid season but wont return to form until 2nd year off knee surgery.

So, does this set us up for McFadden?

McFadden, M-c-F-a-d-d-e-n, McFadden ( group clapping in the background)...... I don't see him on this team. It has been reported that Ronnie Brown's rehab is going GREAT and he is expected to be in TC. He likely won't return to form until year two like you mentioned but I am willing to wait a year. Look for a trade out of the top spot with the 'Boys or the selection of Jake Long, Chris Long or Matt Ryan.

Expect either Chris or Jake Long if we can't trade down.

Idunno...Parcells finds good value in OL and DL in middle rounds...same with QB's. How do you pass up a franchise running back? Too many variables with Ronnie Brown, although I think RW can still play, I dont see him as an every down back or starting on opening day - esp given we might trade him.
Parcells likes running backs, and right now, he doesnt have many.

It's very easy to pass up a "franchise" running back in the draft when you already have a proven "franchise" running back. I understand he's not the healthiest player at that position right now for us but he is our best offensive threat and has a lot of money tied up into him right now due to him being drafted high. I dont think there is a slight chance we take McFadden. I could be wrong but I just CAN'T see it happening.

i think if we sign pace you can Count out Chris Long, Vernon Gholston, and since we have signed Quite a bit of DTs you can count out Sedrick Ellis and Glenn Dorsey so i am going to say we will draft Jake Long

I read that article and I see racism all over it. They mean to tell me that McFadden is the only elite athlete with illegitimate children? And because of that it hinders his ability to produce on Sundays? Well if that's the case, then we can fill a stadium with black super star athletes that had children out of wedlock. Shame on that writer for suggesting that because McFadden has children, regardless of his marital status, that he is at greater risk of being a bust. That is just plain stupid, ignorant, and overly simplistic.

Doesnt anybody know of other black athletes who have or had children out of wedlock?
Was Walter Payton married? Was Michael Jordan married? How about Shaq? the NBA, NFL, almost every sports arena has black AND white athletes who had offspring prior to marriage and still became elite super stars.

Dadgum!

Actually there are tons of Athletes with kids.

Shawn Kemp comes to mind.

I don't care that he has kids I just don't want him. I don't even think he is the best back in the draft.

I believe I heard we are about to sign Michael Turner to share the load with Ronnie, which would be AWESOME!!!!!:woot:

Rumors are pointing to us going after Burner Turner to duo with Ronnie.

And Skinny Legs McFadden is easily the most overhyped player in the draft. ATM we are looking at Jake Long and Matt Ryan. Chris Long and Gholston are worthy of the spot as well, but our FA signings point away from them.

And it certainly isnt "racist" to not want McFadden because hes a troublemaker. There is a difference between having a kid out of wedlock, and being Travis Henry. Combine that with the bar fights and such .... just not the type of guy Ireland and Sparano are harping on. Kiss your McFadden dreams goodbye guys, its been over for a long time already.
